where to park car

I only have a few days for my next trip and would like to drive to my starting point, but don't know if there is any

place I could park a car and trailer for a week. I am in California.

I know nearly everyone will say, "ride your FJR", but I would like to skip the boring part and make the most

of my time.

Let me know if anyone has done this before. All I could think of was paying for a spot in a campground, which

might not be a bad idea...rates can't be that high...

And the boring part is going to be somehow less boring in the car?

Perhaps plan a more interesting route for the start of your trip?

Some truck stops and hotels will allow long term parking if you ask nice. Not sure I'd really want to trust the security of either.
