Where to park a Truck & Trailer
I'm heading down to Arkansas this Friday from north of the Twin Cities Minnesota and Wednesday we're supposed to get another 3-6" south of the cities, in addition to the 18" we just got this weekend.

I don't want to ride my FJR on wet salt covered roads, so I'm probably going to trailer it at least to Rochester Mn. or possibly farther south, depending on the conditions.

I'm looking for suggestions on where I can park my truck and trailer for about a week.

I'll be taking 52 to Rochester then taking 63 to Waterloo Iowa. Parking someplace paved would be preferable, but not necessary. Some farmers property would be great, or a motel or other type of business.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Over the years, I've had luck with local P.D.'s in smaller towns. Some charge a small fee, $5-15/day. Most motels don't have an issue during slower times of the year if you stay with them for at least one night. I ride in AR and MO more than anywhere else but unless you want to trailer all the way there I couldn't suggest a specific place. Let me know if you would like any route suggestions for the AR-MO.

We make arrangements with the hotel. It's usually a 2 night stay (1 there and 1 back). If they say no, we move on. Nobody has said no. About the only request we've had was to separate the truck and trailer so we only occupy two spaces.

I've also used Park N Rides without issue before.

Hey that's a good idea thinking ahead and making plans. I'm on my way to Arkansas spending the night at Harrisville MO tonight. Tomorrow morning we'll find a spot to ditch the trailer (maybe Harison) and ride AR for a couple days.
