Did anyone else happen to notice that Triumph was conspicuously absent from the Motorcycle show in NYC last weekend? Whats up with that? Kind of hard to believe that a company like Yamaha or Harley Davidson finds the show important enough to go to but Triumph doesn't.....sales must be good I guess.

They did the same thing a couple of years ago. They were giving demo's of there bikes at local dealers instead of doing the shows. I think I rode 9 of them at the time...

Triumph is pouring $$$ into product development, new intros and they are still recovering from the fire. They left it up to local dealers to step up and show...

That new 675 is one hot **** machine...

Amen to that! If I was in the market for a new sportbike right now, that one would be very high on my list, along with the new R6 and the new ZX-10R. I was hoping to see the 675 at the Cleveland show this weekend. Apparently, that's not going to happen??

It costs a lot of money to display at a show. I read recently, might have been in Hot Rod magazine, that some car companies were planning on giving away free folding chairs because it was cheaper to buy them and give them away than to rent them from the show organizers.

At the Houston show in Reliant Center a few months back, I too thought Triumph had missed the show; various vendors reported the same. I finally found it- Triumph had left their representation to a small local dealer; it was pathetic. They were tucked away in a corner, about as far away as you could get from the front (read: cheapest booth space) set up on 2 small booth spaces. The bikes (not the full line-up, either) were parked so close together, forget about standing one up. I could have put on a better display in my own garage! Quite a difference compared to all the other manufacturers flashy, huge displays. It made no sense to me that Triumph spends major bucks on full-page nat'l mag ads, but blew this 'hands-on' opportunity to show their products.

If they were tucked away in a corner in NYC they did a very good job at it because I couldn't find them at all....Pretty sad when the fried dough dealer and the guy selling xtreme street riding videos can afford a spot and Triumph can't....Kind of pissed me off actually.
