I am looking at buying a cruise control hopefully this year for my '06. Got the new seat and a descent tail bag but would like to have a cruise control better than the throttlemiester (tired of speeding downhill and crawling uphill).

Also just got my extended warranty so I don't want to void that either.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

The McCruise is probably the best, but costs a fortune - they have versions for various bikes (including the FJR) making it plug & play and it comes with full bike specific instructions.

The Audiovox CCS-100 is inexpensive and works well. Had one on my Concours, likely to eventually break down and add one to the FJR if I can figure out where to put the servo - my underseat is filled with electrical junk.

It has some sensitivities that you need to know about (for example, some bikes require that you provide a relay for the brake input - other's don't), is somewhat generic and thus can be a bit difficult to integrate - but it works very well.

Audiovox CCS-100: https://murpskits.com/catalog/product_info....fcb964501da56d3

Warranties wil not be voided with either model, unless you do something stupid.

I had the McCruise on my 07 and it worked ok but not as good as I would have hoped after spending over $800 for it. I decided to go with this on my 08 --->>> https://www.madcorider.com/

it's simple, works as advertised, inexpensive and a breeze to install.

Exactly right. When I did my installation I put the servo on top of the engine, behind the steering stem. This left the under seat space free. Installation was NOT any more difficult than any other location. I usually forget about it until I read threads like this one. The only visible clue to it's existence is the keypad by the left grip. Mine, BTW, has worked perfectly for 2 yrs/7K miles.

In December last year I posted the question, which was better, the Audiovox or MC Cruse controls. The response was overwhelming -- the MCC was better. The downside is its very expensive. The upside is that it's almost plug and play, while the Audiovox has to be adapted to fit. Also, folks reported serious problems getting the Audiovox to work right on Gen II bikes.

Based on the replies I got, and mama's OK to spend the $, I bought the MCC unit. Installed it over the winter (the directions are first rate) and it worked with little if any adjustment. If you can afford it, MCC is the way to go.

I agree with Jon. I have the McCruise on my '08....what a great farkle...can't say enough good things about this unit. I agree that the only downside is the price.

$770.23 & 16 hours later I have a true automotive cruise control on my '06 FJR. McCruise is first rate equipment, instructions and tech support. Joe at spoiledbiker.com is also top notch! I ordered the unit and had it in 5 days from Australia! He also has the best price, even cheaper than ordering from the factory. Jevers

I have had one for 2 years and yes it works great except it has to be altered to fit a new throttle sleeve like the G2 and them adjustment is difficult and pressure to operate it is increased  It also won't work with factory heated grips...or so they say, It does work with the Honda ones.

Why someone besides McCruise hasn't come up with a similar product especally considering the profit margin is beyond me. Maybe the 09's will have one that we can retrofit...at a resonable price ;)

How did it have to be altered to work with the G2 throttle tube? I am considering McCruise if I can't get the AVCC to work. I really like my G2 and don't want to give it up.

I just installed a $85 Audiovox ccs-100 on my 07 from Amazon. Took a day to install, but it works very well so far. My FJR is just off warranty and I didn't purchase the extended, because it is far tooooo expensive in FL.
