We had a very hot summer here in NJ. Can't wait for the cooler weather so I can enjoy riding once again.

Fall is probably my favorite time of the year to ride. Nice cool days, beautiful colorful sights makes for the perfect riding experience.

Ditto. Fall is cooler, and the rains haven't really set in yet, nor has the snow accumulated in (some of) the passes yet.

Fall in Newer Mexico! The cool weather, colors and my favorite is the long shadows in the evenings from the changing angle of the sun make the country side glow! And all the good food with chili harvest in full swing! The shadows are already changing here and it's starting to finaly cool off. Woo Hoo :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

+1 for fall - Looming winter downtime makes it feel even more tasty.

Fall.

Spring a close second. Theirs something about getting reacquainted with the bike after a long winter of riding the couch.

Spring is nice because it is still cool and it feels so good to get out and ride after hibernating for a few months. Early spring, before the leaves start coming out, allows for better sight distance.

Summer is great because of the longer daylight. The heat can be a deterrent, and this summer has been unusually hot so I didn't ride as much as I normally do in the summer.

Autumn is excellent because the leaves look and smell so nice. Sight distances open up some as the leaves come down and the temperature is comfortable. It is also a bad time for deer on the roads after sunset.

Overall, I'd say whatever season it is right now is my favorite, unless there's snow and ice, so I'll skip winter.

The season that's approaching is always my favorite. I love the spring after the winter layoff, I love the summer after the spring mess, and I love the autumn after the dog days of summer. I am truly a lover of the changing seasons. :yahoo:

Don,

You guys must break out the cages down there when it's over a 100. We drool up here in the Rockies in winter when it is perfect in Arizona.

Ride out and visit us North East FJR Owners sometime in late January. By the time you get to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine the term Winter will have a real meaning for you and it will leave a lasting memory. Some time in May/June we will be able to get your motorcycle chiseled out of the ice and cleaned of salt. By July/August most symptoms of frostbite and frozen digits will have passed.

Fall; late spring; summer; late winter/early spring; late fall/early winter. January thaw.

All four seasons! Spring/early summer and late summer/fall are best; we only get about 6-8 weeks mid-summer when heat can be (but rarely is) an issue. True, we get five months or so when cold is an (prohibitive) issue but that's when we trailer (gasp) the bike to southern Utah, unlimber it and go riding in New Mexico, Arizona and California.

Don: WINTER... isn't that the name of a couple of pale-looking brothers who play wicked blues and rock and such?

Fall is my favourite, for the same reasons everyone else said. Spring and summer are good too. Can even get the occasional day in the winter here in Calgary after a chinook blows through.

That being said, I REALLY miss living in SoCal where EVERY day was a riding day... *sigh* I hate you bastidges in the Southwest...

There's only 2 seasons down here in Florida.

Humid or Comfortable

Luckily, with the exception of the really hot and humid days of late July and August, I like to ride all year long.

And I get to boat all year too!! No hibernating here!

Monsoon season (that's the 9 months other than Summer up here in the PNW).

For some reason, I feel safer riding during those months. Something about seeing a motorcycle out in the rain that makes all of the cagers think "He's :dribble: " and to stay the heck away. They're A LOT more cautious around me. :yahoo:
