I have about 20k on the rear tire and 13k on the front. It's time to get a new set of shoes.

so i'm asking for recomendations. Searching the forum is very tedious and i i'll try to get some quick hit answers then do more reasearch

Go for the Dark Side. If you get that much on a m/c tire you will never have to change tires again with a c/t :yahoo:

What he said lmao

Most people get more life out of the front than the rear. Those are impressive numbers, or scary, depending on what your tires look like now.

What tires are you running now, and what didn't you like about them that makes you consider changing to something else?

Man, that's no ****. I've never heard of anybody getting that kind of milage out of a rear tire. Maybe it was an old army jeep tire.

Did you wear out the tread or have dry rot?

you must have trailered your bike the whole time....generally front tires outlast the rear?

Buy Michelin PR2s. If you're getting that kind of mileage from ANY tire on the FJR, the Michelin Pilot Road-2 is the tire of choice for you.

I want YOUR recommendation on tires. How the heck do you get 20K on a rear? Best I ever did was 6100 on a PRII, and every other tire I have tried gets 4500 to 5000 miles.

I really like the PR2's. They get great mileage and descent grip, a well balanced combination IMO, especially since I commute most of the time.

If you don't care about mileage from the tires I really like the Michelin Pilot Power. I used them at the track and on the street (with my Duc), I don't think they'd last long on the ole heavy FeeJ though.

My Storms only lasted about 3k miles. The stock tires last over 10k. I have a new set of PR2's in my garage waiting to be mounted and balanced. HaulinAshe has done a lot of research in tires and I used his review to help me choose the PR2's.

I got 8k out of the stock Metzeler Roadtec's

I like the tires so much I ended up buying the Roadtec Interac tires this last time.

I think they are a very good tire
