Channelling Dan Patrick...

Went and looked at a low mileage 2007 yesterday after work. I'm a step (the sale of my Triumph 675) away from being able to pull the trigger. Nice, bike, really only needed some soap and water.

A half hour after I got home, the seller called and said he had a buyer who wanted to give him a deposit (travelling up from ATL this weekend to get it), but that he wanted to give me dibs. Couldn't go; the other guy could.

Sigh.

Somebody in GA is getting a nice one.

Sorry you missed out on that one. But it is spring......there will be more and when you get it, you'll love it!

When I found my 05 on Craigslist, it was the same story. Commercial pilot who had taken great care of it, low milage (2700) with farkles. I asked for time, there were others in route and he would not hold via deposit. I left, got a cashiers check and came back to pick it up. Love the bike.

I hate when that happens! It seems often good deals come up when we just can't make them work. The year my wife and I signed the contract to build our new house we were given an opportunity to go to Isle of Man! Couldn't afford the trip after just signing over all of our savings.

I had to do some creative money **** to score the Wing I bought last week but it was to good a deal to pass up.

Just remember, it's not the last FJR. There is always another deal around the corner.

Be patient and the right one for you will come along.

I had several folks interested in my pristine low mileage '04 when I listed it. I told each one that they better look at it quickly because the first person who makes the trip to look at it would buy it. That's exactly what happened. I had to tell 2 very disappointed guys that they'd waited too long.

Good bikes go FAST! If you're a buyer be ready to pull the trigger on the first visit for the right bike.

Yeah, I understand. I was sorta hoping this one would hang around (IDK how long it had been on CL when I looked), but the price was such that the new owner is making the trip from ATL today. Headed to look at an all-black '09 today.

This. It'll feel like it, but it's not. There's been quite a few deals pop up to make me almost kick myself for not waiting a little longer.

The '09 is my second favorite FJR ever. Good luck!
Why do you like the 09 so much, just curious?

Aesthetics only really. I like the black with black wheels. I tried to buy one beginning of last year but it was already sold

There was one on fleabay recently, at a dealer in Iowa I think.....brand new no miles, I don't think it sold.

Okay, the '09 is in really nice shape. 10K, $10K. Battery may be feeble, but they're putting new tires on it. Only addition I saw was Gen-Mar risers. Thoughts?

Uh, thoughts are I'd sell you my 10k mile 09 cheaper than that and it has,

-heated grips

-switched fused panel under seat (just waiting for a butt load of farkles)

-MV motorad riser

-DL hand guards

and it has

new plugs

fresh oil

new brake fluid

new clutch fluid

new coolant

tires have about 4k on them though.

Too much $$$.

Be patient, the right bike will show up before you know it. Good luck with the search!
