I was on the last day of SFO 2011 and coming back to Russellville, AR on 27. The bike is 2003 with no modifications to engine or suspension. Bike has just over 30K on it. We are light weights and both of us together load the bike to an additional 225 lbs. We were carrying maybe another 30-35 lbs. of gear. Suspension was set on the stiffer two up setting.

When healed over in high speed sweepers, a high pitch whine was evident. Only noticed this near the end of the ride, so this only just started. Evident on right and left turns equally, and only at a good clip, say 60+, and healed over to make the turn. Sound disappears when the bike is brought upright. Any suspects? Bearings? Anyone notice this on their bikes?

Cupped tire(s). Run your hand over the rear first and see if any tread blocks are uneven.

Could also be the front tire. In fact, whenever mine starts talking to me it is from the front one. Have a well used PR2 on mine right now and have the same thing. Nothing at all to worry about. Fresh sneakers will eliminate it entirely.
