Who Crashed Saturday Morning...

Does anyone know or has anyone heard?

IF, and I mean if, it was someone coming to the Memorial Ride...it could have been JeffD. He and his wife were going to join us and he's the only one I can think of that is "known" to us from this post:

Count me and my wife in. I have been recovering from shoulder surgery and have been dying for a ride.

I've read through the list and I "think" everyone is accounted for. Demenshea posted on the ride planning thread that she'd not make it. I know he's from Citrus Heights, so he could have been coming down Hazel to take Hwy 50 to El Dorado Hills.

Does anyone have contact information for him?

Jeff D. and pillon were with Uberkul's group from the Starbucks starting point and up Salmon Falls Rd. After traveling through Sutter's Mill south on 49, he stopped at the southern entrance to Hwy 193. I was riding sweep, so I stopped and he told me he was headed home and he'd see us all next time since his shoulder wasn't doing too well. That's where I left him - hope his shoulder didn't let him down on his way home...

Are you suggesting that you know that someone riding an FJR crashed Saturday?

I was told of an FJR crash by one of our group at Starbucks when we all met up there about 10:30. Haven't heard any more about it, or if it could have been anyone heading to meet up with our group, but I hope someone will post up if they know. Supposedly it was a silver one, riding 2-up, off hwy 80 near Hazel, IIRC. In any case, it was before then, so not JeffD. Hope it wasn't major, if the report was true.

Yes.

Jeff has PM's me and I now know he was at Starbucks. In fact, it was he who saw the carnage...

Rider on stretcher, pillion sitting up being fitted with neck brace.

The issue is "WHO". Perhaps someone new to the group coming to join us. Perhaps someone completely unknown to the group......

If somebody is hurt...it sure would be nice to get some sort of information...even if it is...they're at the hospital being taken care of. :clapping:

For whatever reason, not all FJR riders participate in, or are even aware of, this forum, so perhaps it was one of them. Whoever it was, I wish them all the best and a speedy recovery.

I've searched the newspapers without success. I'm trying to think...that may be in Citrus Heights, so that is the P.D. who would have responded. Anyone got an "in" with them?

I've accounted for all that were signed on for the ride. It could have been someone who didn't post.......or who doesn't belong to any of the websites (Pashnit, ST.n, etc.).

Not really! BUT, when one of our members reports seeing an FJR down on the morning of a ride, it might be in our interest to see if it was one of our group or someone coming to join us.....

I think the desire to know what happened comes from a desire to help. Whether that rider was a forum member or not, we know that he/she is a pretty decent sort, by their choice of bike. Perhaps that person could use our help?
