Surely Hamilton is destined for domination and greatness. He is leading the championship by 8 points and is likekely going to win the championship in his rookie year. None of this has ever been done before.....ever

EDIT: Title should have read never been ''done'' before.

Great driver, in the best equipment, but I don't think the rest are just going to yield to the youngster. Alonso is still very strong, and Ferrari is getting better every race, so I think it's slightly premature to declare the final standings just yet.

Us Brits have to have our dreams ya know! :clapping: :D

It's a very cool thing to watch. We're definitely watching the birth of a star. With Hamilton being 22 and Alonso 25, I see a good long rivalry.

Now, if he just doesn't do something silly like, say, running off to join a new team named BAR... ;)

Nice debut for Vettel this weekend, too. Looks like one of those periodic turnovers to a new generation. Sure wish one of your good Yanks would head somewhere other than NASCAR.

I can't see Hamilton leaving McClaren in a rush. The story is that he went upto Ron Dennis at a charity event when he as a 10 year old kart racer. He told him that he would be driving F1 for him one day. He pursued Ron Dennis and consequently he has been sponsoring Hamilton since he was 14.

We are being bombarded by Lewis Hamilton..or at least by images of him and never ending interviews. We are so starved of success in international sports. We invented a lot of them, and get beat at everything now.....Is it that we are too nice?
