Width of FJR at the Saddlebags?

Hey guys, I'm trying to buy a mc cover that fits the bike, and I just received my 2nd cover from a 2nd dealer (mail order) which I've got to send back, because, although they say they're for a 2nd gen FJR, they wont even pull down over the windshield (too short!). I took my bags off the day I bought the bike, back in 2008, and since then, they have resided at the bottom of 200 stairs that go up to the parking lot. I'd really hate to have to pack them up the stairs to get a measurement, and was wondering if I can con one of you guys into running a tape for me, to tell me how wide the bike is at the bags. 36" from rubber bumper to the other rubber bumper on the side bags. Same as the distance from tip to tip of the rearview mirrors.
