wilbers rear preload

I can't figure out when I add preload, does this raise the rear end? Or does the rear rise when I soften the preload? I ask because I think its pretty critical for my fuel cell to feed.

Mike,

crank up the preload when running with a loaded fuel cell. This will stiffen the shock to absorb the extra weight. This doesn't allow the shock to " sag " more,... it really doesn't " raise " the bike.
