That crap was painful.

And sadly enough, that was probably considered very "hip" back in the day.... :puke:

But he is so good on Boston Legal that he gets a free pass!

I'm Denny. Denny Crane.

Oooh I don't think so, a timeless example of unhipness and self delusion it is. Though I'm sure there were a few who thought it was cool. Well one guy anyway...

Wait a minute! Isn't that the owner of that other board?

Smoking like that will ruin his voice!

I can assure you that it was NEVER considered "hip" by anyone other than his agent. He was an out-of-work hack doing movies like Tarantula (when he worked at all). He had told all his fans from Trek to shove it up their arses and so even that option wasn't available for 20+ years (until people forgot enough to buy tickets to ST:TMP). TJ Hooker wasn't even a gleam in it's developers' eyes when he did his "musical" album.

But that "Get a Life" SNL skit is a classic!

Plus, it was back when SNL was funny.

it was a good skit. however the attitude (and album) was long before the skit took place.

True. Shatner's always been pretty full of himself.
