I'm getting my farkles ready for my soon to be (March?) '07 FJR and have a few ?'s about windscreen.
I sat on a '07 the other day and noticed how small the stock screen seems. That probably adds to the sporty looks and maybe to help keep cool in summer but I imagine it goes up for quiet/smooth airflow most of the time. I know this is vein but I couldn't stand the way my ST1300 looked with the screen raised, like a barn door on the front of the bike. I think all the sporttourers suffer from the same condititon. Why don't they make the screen go straight back, retaining its helpful angle staying close to you and directing the wind over your head and look good to?? Also I don't like to look through a screen but just over it. THe ST1300 did provide good almost sportbike like quiet airflow with screen all the way down.
Anywho, I though maybe a taller (Cee Baileys +2 or +4) would help direct wind over your head, keep quiet and still look good with the angle. Anybody have experience with this? I'm 5-11, 30 inseam. I reallllly like the looks of the FJR and am trying to keep it sharp i.e. no trunk and associated hardware. I thought also that one with a flip would help but would not be good if I had to raise to look through.
Thanks,
Steve
