I've noticed on the new and maybe all windshields, the bolts fasteners are a rounded type, I guess for security? Anyway, question is, which may sound silly, but how do you tighten them up? Just don't want to do the wrong proceedure. Thanks, PM. <><

Mine are phillips head. I don't imagine they've been changed for '06 to keep windscreens from being jacked. Yours may have been rounded out by some Charles Meatless at the dealership. They're nylon, and require a good fitting screwdriver and some finesse. They don't need to be torqued down, just snugged up.

TC, looking at the front of the windscreen, the "W" shaped bracket at the bottom has four bolts on the vertical stantions. Two on each side. The heads are hidden on the outside under the plastic of the covers while on the inside of the shield the fasteners are round. There's no damage by someone and I have never seen this type of fastener. The cover is a little loose on the left side. Not a problem, just needs to be secured. If I can't figure it out I'll have to have the dealer take care of it. Maybe the cover pops off but I don't really want to mess with the paint on this. Thanks, PM. <>< <_<

Well. those are different than mine. Maybe a thread with a title like "Need '06 windscreen attachment assistance" would lure in a guy like lotecredneck with some experience setting new bikes up or another guy with a service manual.

:D Thanks TC. I will start a new thread. PM. <><
