I searched (not very hard) and couldn't find it. Out of the eight wires I have the following wires from the drive unit figured out, but don't know where the remaining two go:

1) Positive

2) Ground

3) Jumper to deactivate windshield retraction at ignition off

4) Jumper to deactivate windshield retraction at ignition off

5) Switch on handlebar

6) Switch on handlebar

7) ??

8) ??

Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

Brown -- Switched 12 volt power (Signaling System fuse)

Sky Blue -- 'Neutral' Green LED indicator

Light Green -- Windshield 'Down' control

Sky Blue/White -- Windshield 'Up' control

Red/Black -- Shorting jumper (windshield down at key off)

Black/Red -- Shorting jumper (windshield down at key off)

Black -- Common, ground

Red/Green -- Unswitched, backup 12 volt power (powers windshield down at key off)

Thank you for the excellent response!!

Curious - What has the Neutral indicator got to do with this circuit?

It's just a convenient place for the neutral light to get switched power, instead of a whole 'nother circuit. Not a lot of room under the nose cowl for extra wires.

Don't know why the 'Neutral' light is powered via the windshield drive unit.

The windshield drive and 'Neutral' light are powered from two sources -- switched power and unswitched backup power.

Unswitched power is needed by the drive mechanism so the windshield can reset to the down position after the key is switched off.

If the bike is in neutral and the windshield resets down at key off the neutral light will remain on until the windshield reaches it down position.

One could also disable the windshield down feature by disconnecting the unswitched power connection to the drive -- no power at key off = no windshield movement at key off.

Has anyone taken a photo of which wire to disconnect to deactivate the windshield down feature when turning off the key on a 2007?

It's a 2-wire connector that has a black wire looping back to itself, and nothing else. Unplug that connector and it's done.

This shows it disconnected. The exact position varies (according to what I've read on the Forum). At least one person didn't need to remove the panel to get to it.

In mine (at least), there's no slack whatsoever in the part that goes into the loom.
