Windshield swap

New here. Just purchased a 2008 FJR that came with a Yamaha Touring windshield. While researching, I came across a thread on this forum about members sending test windshields around for the price of shipping. For the life of me, I can't locate that thread. Anyone still doing that? I would love to try a Cal Sci, but don't want to keep dropping money on new shields just to check one out.

Harald was very helpful to me - he invited me over to his place and let me try his three windshields .. he's down in Auburn, about 50 miles south of Seattle.

You could either contact him, or I'm willing to "pay it forward" - I have a stock shield and a Cee Bailey you can experiment with if you come out to my place in Redmond

If you decide you want to pick up a stock windshield, lemme know. I got my original one I haven't used in 5 yrs.

You will spend a lot of time & money and you will find that the Yamaha Touring is as good as it gets, at least I did.

I own the touring and Rifle and the touring hasn't been used except to refresh my memory why I like the Rifle for long distance riding.

I will say that the Touring looks better but for my height has too much back draft when in the up position. Now I might just try it again

and decide if I should just sell it.

Riona beat me to it, but you're welcome to stop by my place and try out any of my shields. I have a cut down stock shield, a V-stream shield and also a Cee Bailey +2 high stock width with flip (reverse contour). Send me a pm if interested.
