Whats makes it tough is that i had a Mayer seat made for the bike which raises it 1 inch and tha throws everything out.

I knw what you mean. I have a cee bailey and did a bill mayer. now the shield is not as quiet as before and I am looking for something else. May be the Cal Sci

Glad to hear the Calsci worked out for you. I'm glad it found a happy home. :yahoo: Not sure if I told you when I sold it to you, but that was originally Smitty's, he sold it to someone else, who I bought it from and then to you.

I'm in a similar position with my Russell seat. It pops me up an extra inch or two and that makes things noisier with the shield up :angry:

I think my solution will be to run the Russell with a cut down stock shield in the warm weather riding (most of my miles), and then when I switch to the big Rifle shield in the fall I'll also break out my Corbin modular seat which is heated and actually a tad lower than a stocker. You might consider finding a stock drivers seat (or some other lower seat) for winter use yourself.
