My buddy and I leave Ormond Beach, FL tomorrow morning for a CCC100 attempt. Plan on getting to San Diego around 10:00pm or so Pac. Time.

If anyone is interested in meeting us as a witness, that would be great. He rides a BMW, but I hope you'd still sign his form :)

Once, done, I'm sure I'll have some type ride report and photos to post.

THANKS!

I'm not Dave, but I'd guess he's talking about Friday night. Just cause he says he's leaving tomorrow, which would be the 8th. He wouldn't make it THAT evening and if it were the 10th, he'd be too late, so it's gotta be the 9th.

Dave, read the rules carefully, you might not want to 'start the clock' on your return trip at 10PM Friday night. IIRC, the IBA rulz say that you don't really have 100 hours to complete the trip, but within 50 hours for each leg. When you get your SDO receipt and/or witness, you're ending the first leg and starting the second. I don't have time to check the rules myself right now, just would hate to see you disappointed if you go through the effort and the ride isn't approved! The simple solution is to rest in SDO until you're close to the end of the first 50 hours and THEN get your witness and receipt. I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it!

Have a great ride!

Duh! Yes I'm sorry, I'm talking about san Diego Friday night.

Kaitsdad you are exactly right, it's basically 2 back to back 50cc's you can't build a cushion by arriving early on first leg. You can rest and wait for the 50 hour mark to start back, but the return 50 hour clock starts at 50 hours OR when you start back if it's before the 50 hours.

I'll probably not be back on the forum until I get back home.

Ride report when I return. Oh brand new Mich Road Pilot 2 on front and Bridgestone BT21 on back. 5000 mile update on them when I return.

I can wave at you as you pass through Texas B) Good luck!

Back from 5,000 plus miles in 4 days, AND I made an impromptu detour to see and get photos at the Alamo. No reason, I just decided to drop off the Interstate and do something different.

First day had a 100+ miles BEFORE we got to the Atlantic Coast and started the CCC100, and we completed a BBG1500 in that first 24 hours.

Thanks Rick for being a witness in San Diego.

Wow, the FJR is awesome. I already knew that, but to be completely comfortable for that many hours on the bike and STILL happy to get on it just surprises me. Speeds were reasonable all the time, within 10mph of posted limit almost always.

2007 FJR1300AE, Stock seat, stock windshield, AutoZone cheap driving lights, Garmin 2610 Street Pilot GPS, top box, homemade throttle lock. Nothing exotic by any means. Buddy on a 2000 BMW RT1100 did just as well.

I'll do a full writeup with photos as soon as I can. Front Michelin RP2 is perfect, Bridgestone BT21 has a little flatter profile, but with 5300 miles of almost all interstate, what can you expect. I'll post pics, but it's got a LOT of life left.

a '97, huh? what color did they make 'em in that year? ;)

and stock seat?!?! did you have the nerves in your butt surgically removed or something?

You're a stronger man than I

1997? What the heck am I talking about? that's what 4 days of very little sleep will do to you! Original post corrected, thanks.

Many years of racing bicycles probably DOES have something to do with it. But that seat does fit me fine.
