Just watched my recording of the WSBK at Valencia. Bayliss well adrift after dominating last time out. Was he sandbagging to throw off the 1200cc critics?
Funny you should say that. The Eurosport coverage that we get in the UK has just loaned out its commentary team to the BSB. Whenever it clashed, which it did this last weekend they are substituted by Warwick Noland (New Zealand ex racer) and another guy who's name escapes me. The did a very amateurish job and got slated on the BSB forum. The 'other' guy came on the forum and apologised and asked people to be patient, which I thought was a good thing to do.Who does the video taping for these races? It's obvious the announcers and camera crew are not connected. They can't call up a replay, can't show us when someone in the back crashes. They just say "Oh, so and so just lost it." But we never get to see it!
Thanks for confirming, thought I was just being overly critical of their style. Watching from afar would explain a lot about their commentary. I can understand it as a cost-saving measure, but it sure causes some missteps. He also said that they were watching the race on monitors in London and that in itself causes all sorts of complications. I imagine thats the case with your guys as well.
Several outlets will use the feed that is provided and the announcers can do nothing more than speak to what is on the screen. It's up to the guys 'in the truck' to decide what does and what doesn't get shown/replayed.Who does the video taping for these races? It's obvious the announcers and camera crew are not connected.
