No injuries thanks.  The elk might have a few.  I brought the bike down from 40-50mph and tried to avoid him as he darted back and forth in front of me.  Finally hit him as he tried to jump away and got him as he was leaping. He got tossed into the ditch but was gone by the time i stopped and turned to check. I think he has a couple of scratches and welts on his hind qtrs judging by the fur he left in the bodywork.

Totaled the bike with cosmetic and minor structural in the nose area of the bike.  The unknown electrical gremlins pushed it over the top.  The tupperware popped open with all the tabs on the bodywork releasing upon impact.

The bike was still upright and running, both feet were on the ground as i stopped.  I couldn't believe he was gone and i was still standing.

I checked to see if I-90 motorsports was open but it was 815am and they don't open till 10a so i decided to go home to Seattle.  All electrical was working, bike was running fine so off i go.  I get to Bellevue way and it starts to studder and now i have no gauges.  Elelctrical cutting out so i head for the off ramp and park it by the lightrail work site and call a tow.  Then i go to I-90 motorsports.  They were open by then.

I'll get some pics up soon.

So ~G, what's Mr. Black eluding to?

Wow.  That surprises me.  I guess it don't take much.  Important thing is that you are ok.

Did the forks take a hit too?  Did you ask how much it would be to buy the totaled bike from the insurance company?

Checking on current status but we had a nice ‘16ES available locally. Shoot me a PM if you might be interested.

They wanted $2800 for the salvage. The suspension is fine.  The damage didn't extend back to the bars. It broke the nose section including the gauge mounting.  I was able to harvest all my aftermarket and then some but i didn't want to deal with the wreck itself.
