Do you use a regular set of headphones that hooks up to the 550 moto mount or someother setup? I was contemplating getting the xm antenna as well until I put a few mp3s on my zumo and don't think it is loud enough at hwy speed using regular headphones.

Any suggestions?

i picked up my XM antenna last month from PC Nation for 189, free shipping. good luck finding a used one. probably pretty rare.

Mike: Sorry for the thread hijack...

Joe: One thing you might check is there is 2 volume adjustments for MP3/XM. You have the speaker button on the front which is obvious. There is also a sound level setting for MP3/XM in the tools menu if you tap on the little wrench and then the volume control in the settings.

I use cheapo headphones and I can make it plenty loud! Give it a try.

I too have a set of ER6 "earbuds". They are very good (for me) at sealing out wind noise and sound (IMHO) very good with the Zumo. I have had them only a short time, so no real input on durability though some have stated to the wiring (very thin at bud) as a failure point. I plan to re-enforce this area (if possible) but still a little fuzzy on the "how".

Also, they (with an extension) fit into the 550 and I haven't experienced any interference (static/ignition noise). I do plan to run them through my Autocom system, when I get that set up.

Thats the whole set up I have...in fact just the the XM antenna for the 550. As far as the wire at the buds go...I thought it would break there too, but I've had no problems at all with pretty severe abuse

2nd volume button! You are right, it is plenty loud! Thanks for the tip JW.

I use the ER6 headphones too and they rock. Only ones that fit comfortably inside a helmet, won't pop out of your ear, block out the wind noise, sound great, and are under $100.
