My wife had a knee operation last November. Today was the first time she's been out with me since then. Knees and hips were issues, we're hoping passenger peg extenders are the answer. If they aren't the answer, it looks as if we are going to cancel a 3-1/2 week trip at the end of May. It also looks like the end of our riding together :-(

For my wife, they made it harder to get on, harder to get off, but much more pleasant riding. She had no problem with the stock pegs, but found the lowered ones more comfortable immediately.

I ordered the passenger peg extenders from MCL. So I don't want to buy any longer. Thanks for looking, though.

My wife loves the MCL passenger peg extenders - they help quite a bit. For the rider, you may notice a bit of conflict with your feet as you lift them when taking off or when the rear pegs are deployed and you are pushing back with your feet - easy to get used to.

I just found a set of MCL passenger peg extenders on e-bay. Got 'em for $52 shipped. I am also considering a set of the "Knifemaster" floorboards.

Good deal. Let me know how the floorboards work out

I installed the passenger peg extenders and they really helped with her knee. But her hip still gave her a lot of pain. She felt that the top box was pushing her too far forward and the shape of the pillion seat was forcing her hips to rotate forward.

So I pulled the top box and mounting plate off and installed a large Garauld rear rack. I noticed in the pictures on their web site that the Sargent passenger seat seemed flatter, less of a cup. I invested in the Sargent passenger seat.

We strapped a large dry bag filled with quilts to the rack and gave it a try . . . happiness. With all of these pieces put together she was comfortable. It looks as if we're going to proceed with our 3-1/2 week trip and continue riding together :)

The moral of the story - if you want to make your wife happy, buy her MCL peg extenders, a Garauld rack, and a Sargent Seat and maybe a Penske shock and new fork springs and
