Yeah... pity the Soltek's are turning out to be this way.

My guess is that they draw too much current? As one who has ordered, not yet received/installed this is somewhat disturbing?

Er, no.... they draw too much water!

Several have suffered water intrusion during Leg One. They apparently don't do that well in the rain. Kinda un-nerving to see a water level on the inside of the lens before you send 23,000 volts down the line to light off the salt chamber....

And to think that yesterday I was having regrets about not ordering them :) . God certainly does work in mysterious ways.

Thanks for the info, got a set in the garage waiting for brackets. I guess it don't rain that much during those Baja offroad races.

Can 2 TINY holes be employed to keep it dry? One in the bottom of the reflector, and one in the bottom of the housing? Perhaps under the ring to keep water from blowing up in?

One of mine kinda fogged up after two hours of downpour in the Marriot parking lot at WFO. I was just gonna send it back to be repaired under warranty. Auxiliary lights need to be watertight, and my guess is that Baja Designs thinks they are. After all, the warranty period is three years....
