Looking for a top box in good condition for a reasonable price. I'm not particular on the size so let me know what you've got!

Check out COSMOTOR , SHAD cases on clearance (supose to be discontinued), forum discount. Limited quantity in stock, a bunch more on order. I just ordered a SH32... $160 shipped, includes case, backrest and FJR specific adapter plate. Call the 1-800 number and ask for Mike.

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a shout.

So...being that I don't want to spend over $300 does any body have a used trunk they're looking to part with?

$300, what were you trying to order, the entire lot? did you talk to Mike and mention that you were a member of the forum?

First time I called he quoted me $206 for a SH42 with mounting adapter, but I really wanted something smaller.

Check out this thread, the one above the pics is what he HAD in stock

SH32

OK, so $170 for the SH46 but then $56 for the mounting bracket, $25 if I wanted the light kit, and $28 if I wanted the color plate. According to Mike, your $160 price was for the box only on the SH32, the mounting bracket and backrest would be extra so therefore the 46 would be a better deal for the extra $10. There is also no "Forum price" the price he gives for the boxes on FJRs...members or not, is dealer cost. He said that the last time they ordered was in 2004 and they are set to order again and want to clear out the inventory. You also got the last of the smaller case. Oh...and I called there 5 times before I got to talk to him, and I didn't really care for his attitude (kinda' overboard on pressuring the sale). Maybe he was in a bad mood today?

Not trying to dispute, BUT, as you can see in the pics from the last link there is a mounting plate under the box. I believe he sad it was $75 for the box, $58 for the plate and $18 for shipping (he said he would throw the backrest in for free). He charged me $160.03, as you can tell the price doesn't add up, but I wasn't gonna argue for that price.

I didn't care for his sorry attempt at humor and thought maybe he was just having a bad day. Guess he's just like that, don't know him personally.

$80 in savings

It's the best prices I've seen, except for the crap from JC Whitney, but if you don't want to spend that much...

you might be able to get away from using the mounting adapter, the box mounting plate includes 2 winged brackets that you might be able to mount to the stock rack w/ longer bolts.

just trying to help a brother out

Sorry if I came across as an **s, guess I was just a little cranky after dealing with that guy! I tried calling three times during business hours and got voice mails...left messages. Tried emailing and got a reply asking to call. Called again spoke to somebody else and they instructed me to call back the next day as I needed to talk to Mike. Called today and got some other person on the phone and when I asked to speak with Mike he got defensive on me and said he could help me, when I explained what I wanted he said that I would have to speak with Mike (like I had already told him...twice). He says Mike is on the phone and that I would have to wait, appearantly they don't have hold on their phone system because he just set the phone down, after a few minutes of waiting somebody hung up the phone and I had to call back again. This time I spoke with Mike, he stated that I was misinformed of the price you had given me and explained the price difference. The guy who had hung up on me came into Mike's office (or where ever he was) and apologized for hanging up on me. Mike told him that I said he could "go f himself". I'm all for office humor and enjoy a good laugh with my coworkers, but I thought this was unproffesional. Then he stated that he would have to check to see if he had a blue color plate for the lid and needed to go in the back. He picked up the phone after a couple minutes and stated that he had one and needed to know if I wanted it. This is when we got into a bit of a tiff over the price and he said "if you don't want it don't buy it but I need to know because it's hot back here and I want to get back up front". That made up my mind right there and I told him I'd call him back if I decided to buy from him. In all actuality though I had already made up my mind and this was much more polite than saying kiss my **s d**k I wouldn't buy anything from you. I guess none of it had anything to do with what he said but his tone and his attitude sucked. Maybe he was joking but he needs to work on the delivery of his jokes if that's the case.

I'll keep looking.

Oh, and I do truly appreciate your help! It was a good lead, just didn't work out for me.

Thanks again.
