My FJR came with a California Scientific Windshield, I'm not 100% sure of the size but I'm pretty sure it's either an XXL (probably) or maybe an XL. I'm pretty tall (6'5") with a long torso so while it was tall enough to get me completely out of the wind but not quite enough to prevent wind roar.

I replaced it with a ginormous Cee Bailey (+6) which is definitely plenty tall for me but I'm thinking that in the summer I will want a bit more airflow on my helmet and upper chest (as it is I get none even in the fully down position).

Anyways I was thinking of getting a stock shield and cutting it down, and running that in the summer.

I figured someone out there who has a stock shield and wants something bigger.

Ideally someone who's local-ish to SoCal wants it, otherwise pay shipping both ways and the CalSci is yours.

Here are some pictures showing the size and condition of the CalSci from when I installed the Cee Bailey (The CalSci has been sitting in a box ever sense) - https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=140341&st=0&p=891391

I am interested too and just down in San Diego. We could meet and swap.

I also have a CalSci XXL and am 6'6" tall with a 34" inseam and am interested in further details on your assessment of the differences between the CalSci XXL and the Cee Baileys +6"? I get decent protection in the full up position from the CalSci but am still interested in pursuing a larger pocket of still air. Based on your experience with both, do you feel the Cee Baileys is superior in this area for long torsoed people? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

The Cee Bailey design works really well, the reverse flip works really well, if I were to but it over again I would have got a +4 instead of a +6. As it is even with the shield fully down I'm completely out of the wind.

I also would have got a +4 width instead of the +2 I got.

Now you tell me. As I recall, you said the +2 width was better for your hands that get hot. Why the change of heart to a +4 width?
My +2 +2 is almost perfect with some minor issues. I think a +3 height would have been perfect. I am mostly out of the airstream with the +2 all the way up, but not perfect. On the other hand, the lowest position if fine for the heat. The width could probably be wider as when I am cruising with my left hand on my hip (ala sportbike riding method) I get increased buffeting and wind noise. Otherwise the +2 width is perfect.

More riding in cooler weather and now that I've decided I will run a stock shield (probably cut down) in the summer and the Cee Bailey in winter where wind protection is more important.

If I were to try to run exclusively with the Cee Bailey the +2 is good, but if it's just for winter riding a little more barn door might be better. A +4 width would be bad in 100+ degree heat IMO.
