I just bought a set from a GEN 1 owner (about the same price as I recall) It took a bit of googleing to ascertain they are the same for both gens.

A great looking product and 1 more thing on my round tuit list...

Other than remove some plumbing, do they help the bike to run any better??

I removed then from my 1700 RoadStar to clean up the look of the engine but didn't think it ran any better.

No...They don't affect how the bike runs. They help reduce decel popping, especially with aftermarket pipes, but that's about it.

Their best quality is that they clean up the area under the tank for when you gotta work under there.
