Has anyone ever looked into the possibility/red tape involved in obtaining a bike that is not imported into the U.S.? (i.e. the XJR1300). I had heard a rumor that it was possible to get one through Canada; even if that is so, is it possible to get a registration sticker for it? Or is it the same problem with non-imported cars (where those models don't pass EPA regs here, thus you cannot get a sticker...at least that was the main issue several years back I would read about)

Like Suzuki: no GSX1400 over here, but plenty of Bandit 1200s; in Europe, you can get either...maybe they believe Bandit sales would dwindle with the GSX sitting next to it if it was sold here...

For some reason, these bikes have never sold well in the US. Honda lost their shirt on the CB1000 and Kawasaki dropped the ZRX this year.

Importing a used Canadian bike is not typically a big deal.

As far as I know, it is not available in North America at all.

As far as red tape, not much, look to web sites like this for info. It can be done.

So that's what the feejer looks like without it's plastic...
Nope. Tube frame, different motor, swing arm, rear shocks...

Blame the lack of importation to the States for this kinda bike on ourselves. We don't buy 'em. Not worth their time to get them federalized if we ain't gonna buy 'em. If that bike were available, I'd be at the Yamaha shop, lickety split, boy howdy, fer sherr!

Alright, alright.. the pipes look the same, and the tail, and that little bit where the passenger pegs attach..

"That's what a naked bike that shares styling cues with the FJR looks like"

Happier?? :p
