I have recently been contacted by the dealer that sold me my '06 FJR asking if I was interested in purchasing a Y.E.S. package. I asked them for a price quote and was told that it comes in increments of 12 months. 12, 24, 36 & 48. I was also told that once you buy one of the plans you cannot extend it any further that the amount of months you initially purchase in the Y.E.S. program. I would appreciate any feedback or guidance regarding pricing other members are aware of or anything else I should know about the program. I will probably go for the 48 month plan but want to make sure that I am paying a fair price when I sign up. My dealer quoted me approximately 700 dollars for the 48 month option which I know is no bargain. If anyone has purchased this plan and has pricing available to share with me, or can recommend a dealer to purchase it from, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

fjrgoodie

FJRocket,

Thanks, is there any problem buying the extended warranty from another dealer, especially one out of my state? I'm in New Jersey?

Makes no difference where you buy it. The only difference is what you pay for it. D&H has the lowest price. You can purchase it any time before the standard warranty runs out.

Nope. It's a Yamaha policy and any Yamaha dealer HAS to honor it. Your local dealer might TRY to balk, but I doubt it. Many owners have just told their dealer to match it, and if they come close, usually just buy local. I'm in Indiana and bought the YES at D&H TWICE. My local dealer didn't like it, but then again, I've never had to use it. Hope the owner of my '04 never has to use it either.

Side note: I bought my AE in Alabama and after I broke in the bike, my steering stem was loose. Took it to the local dealer and asked them to fix it (didn't have "the tool" at the time). They put up a fight, but I made them call Yamaha in front of me and then make it good. They did. Bastages. When asked why I bought the bike in Alabama, I told them that local wanted retail and I saved almost $3K going out of state. Reason enough? You'd have to be INSANE not to save 3 large.

Give your local dealer a chance to match the $389 for 4 years and if they don't come close, walk your hard earned money down the street. Well, across the country.

Renaa at D&H will take care of you. She'll mail you the paperwork, you send it back with a check. It's easy. No credit cards, please. They are GREAT to work with.

Not from what I understand. My understanding is you can add to it up to 48 months. Probably cost you more than if you buy up front though. Go to D&H as someone has already posted. They sell it right at cost and it doesn't matter what dealer you buy it from.

And the best part is you'll have a southern accent by the time you hang up from talking to Renaa.

They are truly great fols to do business with!

Purchased the bike in California and the 48 month YES from D & H in Alabama. My local dealer service department could care less, they just want my business.

Call D & H

Just got my papers from D&H today.

Great folks to work with. Very Helpful.

++1 on getting the Y.E.S. from D&H. They really are nice folks. Explained exactly what I needed to do and were very helpful when I had some terrifically stupid questions.
