Yamaha expects demand for motorcycles and marine motors to have been steady in 06, while demand for traditional ATVs is slowing. Yamaha is proving capable of replacing this with demand for new SSVs (side-by-side vehicles).
In motorcycles, high fuel costs has spurred growth in demand resulting in higher sales of commuter models. The shift in demand from cruiser bikes to sports motorcycles is also working to Yamaha’s advantage.
