Seen Yamaha is offering an extra $500 trade allowance on a purchase of a new bike, so thought I'd check to see what it would take to trade up from my '03 w/ 30K miles to a '13.

Does anyone know if this "extra" $500 is from Mama Yamaha, or is the dealer kicking in a portion?

And, anyone know when Yamaha may release info on the '14's?

Where did you "Seen" Yamaha is offering a extra $500 trade allowance? They previously had a trade allowance offer but it expired on June 30, 2013, and I can't find anything on Yamaha's website about a new program.

Prolly early October. But that's a guess, based on when we heard last years info. Actual availability will be a little longer, as usual. Just our best guess, Mama Yamma never tips her hand. All we got to go on is what happened in the past.

You might have noticed that the "when do we hear about '14s" question has been completely ignored. I will now continue to do that.

But '03 with 30K? It needs to get out more. Even in Wisconsin! :)

Got lucky when I bought my '13 in March - $500 trade allowance + 3.9% for 36 months

Here is the break down on cash back:

nothing on 2013's according to this. :/
That appears to be the case according to that link, but on the other link that I posted, it doesn't go into detail.

Spoke to a salesman at a Yamaha dealer about a demo '13 FJR for $11,900 (+ fees) and inquired if the $500 trade allowance applies, said yes.

Funny about this '13 they have is that it isn't at their dealership currently but they would have it back in a few weeks....seems a bit strange to me.

If you check The offer is for 5 year old bike or less.
I read it as if you purchase a new 2009-2014 Yamaha they will give you an additional $500 towards your trade-in.
Getting close on a deal for a '14, and spoke to a Yamaha Cust. Service Rep, states the $500 additional trade-allowance is available on the purchase of a 2014 FJR. Maybe some dealers aren't participating in the promo?

Also was told by a few dealers that they need to get their orders in by the end of this week.....

On the Yamaha demo truck perhaps?

I always wonder about these...so are they just going to mark your trade down $500 before applying the "Extra" $500 to your trade? Sorry, I'm cynical like that.

When you go in to the dealer, make your best deal, THEN, take out the form that you downloaded from Yamaha's site with your info and they "add" $500 to the price that they offered for your trade, so if they tell you they would allow you $5k for your trade, it's now worth $5500 off the purchase price of the new one!

That extra $500 helps get you into the ES model a bit easier. :)
