Hi all, found my pannier loose and luckily I had the pin in the lower bracket and the top hook is sitting on the edge when I went for refueling. Found that someone in the forum mentioned that the slot which the bag's rectangular pin (the part which moves upwards to 'lock' the pannier) goes into when you put the handle down, you should see a rubber seat glued to the top of the hole. Anyone managed to buy the replacement or have the part number or the dimensions including the thickness?

No idea about the rubber part, other than I know it is there. Is yours intact on the other side and can you remove it to measure? Didn't see it on the FJR on-line fiche - navigate back you your year and model and see if you can find it...

Sometimes, the problem is with a skipped tooth on the locking mechanism so the tab doesn't extend as far as it should. No easy fix for it, but have a read of the following two threads...

Good luck.

I cut a piece out of an old inner tube, glued it in. Experiment. Add pieces until it's tight enough.

If you suspect the locking piece isn't coming out far enough, I've measured a good one.

It measured 40.5mm (or 1.6 inches if you prefer).

Thanks both for the suggestion. I checked the locking tab and found it skipped a gear.
Will it be easy to use the screwdriver to pylush it back in place?

Look at the links Rosskean posted two post above for the best answer available....which is that we don't have record of somebody doing it before. If you try, let us know!
