The new Stratoliners etc certainly are a fresh, innovative (given the 30s styling touches from the Art Deco school...) design, but.......... They certainly are not ungainly hardlee clones unlike many Japanes cruisers. The articles reviewing these bikes are very positive about all the bikes dynamic attributes and the cohesiveness and totality of the design.
While I rather like them and applaud GK Design for their work they still, to me, do not have the visual "pop" of a typical H-D. It seems to my eyes that a less muted choice of color could have gone a long way to further enriching the visual appeal of these bikes. Overall Harley's rich vibrant use of color, even the "vivid black" makes their bikes really snap. These Yamahas simply do not do that either in pictures or 3D on the showroom floor. IMhO Yamaha missed by not using color more aggressively to enhance these new bikes. Maybe next year? DFO
