I'm bracing myself for the *** kicking flame-fest to follow, but here goes:

Before last week, I was never picky with oil brands, just using Mobil 1 or Rotella Synthetic. The only selection criteria I used was 10-40 for winters, 20-50 for summers, all synthetic.

As posted Here, I had an unexpected oil change in NW Arkansas, and used Yamalube 10-40 for the first time. I'm now a YamaLube convert, and won't go back.

Just 4 days prior, to the switch, I put in fresh Rotella Synthetic as usual, and rode just under 2k since that change. On the trip out to Arkansas, I noticed a high level of vibration, and remember thinking a TBS must be due. Also, I averaged 35mpg @ 85mph w/ the throttle lock on flat slab. After the switch to YamaLube, the vibrations subsided noticably, and on the return trip, I averaged 39mpg @ 85mph, w/ the throttle lock on flat slab.

I know these aren't scientific tests, but the unexpected results were significant to me. So, take it for what it's worth (probably very little, especially since I don't even torque my drain plug  ).

Off to NEPRT with this one...

You were hittin' the Jager shots before you posted this, weren't you? That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Yankin' your chain. My fav is Rotella 5-40 Synthetic. I swear I can tell a difference.

I have been accused of being full of ****, but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

With the FZ, I can even use 10-30. However, I still prefer my 5-40 Synthetic. Right now, I am running Mobil 1 dino. Engine braking seems a little more pronounced. I'll be heading back for my 5-40 after I use this up.

Yamalube is all I've ever used in my R1 and FJR. I figure, it's their bikes, I'll use their oil. I was kinda forced into using bike oil since car oils got so slippery, they were bad for the clutch.

I thought it was a mortal sin to switch back from syn to dino. Rumor has it that once you do the Mayan calender speeds up or sumpin'.

Dude. I want some of what your smokin.

When I am smoking my stuff, I only notice 2mpg difference and only a moderate difference in vibes.

Obviously, your **** is better than my ****.

Nice try there Jager., either one hell of a sick joke or, you really do not understand the inner workings of your machine! Quite frankly, I would be embarassed to bring up the equation that you did.

OMIGOD!!!

You cannot be serious!!

Everyone knows that Yamalube causes severe engine deterioration, bad mpg and warts and only a complete and utter ***** would ever use it in anything other than a John Deere tractor.

But, glad it worked out for you though. YMMV.

Running it out of oil caused increased wear on engine parts.

A "loose" engine spins easier thus increasing fuel economy.

Or maybe you just had a tail wind going east?

While legitimate scientific studies are lacking, it is obvious that there are truly magical, zen-enhancing properties to oil. It's true. No other motorcycle staple stirs the soul and lubricates the karma like oil. It's not our accessories, nor our octane, nor even our motorcycle itself. It is the oil.

As evidence of this undeniable truth, you have but to remove your personal oil blinders and look around. How many threads are about oil? Viscosities are defended and denounced more passionately than even motorcycle brand. Yes, we may switch motorcycle brand but never our oil. Not even the coveted tire can match the magical transcendental properties of our oil. Even our love is conditional on these very beliefs. (Yes, dear, I will love you forever and ever...as long as you adopt and live my personal oil philosophies.) We LIVE for our oil. We even willingly DIE for our oil. The list of the "I fell on my sword for my oil beliefs" is long and strewn with blood not measured in volume, but viscosity.

You may take our lives, but never our OIL!

My oil is mine. My oil is the right oil. My oil loves me and I love my oil. My oil courses through my veins and facilitates the functional fluidity that is my very being. If you do not feel the same, it is because my oil chose ME, and you are left out in the darkness, crawling, searching like a blind man, for a little soul-lubrication. I can hear your friction-induced destruction from here.

It is the oil, man. It is why I ride. It is why I live.

Folks, I think there is a logical explanation: he was riding up hill on the way there, and down hill on the way back. With a tail wind.

Very nice indeed. Does synthetic oil count?
