Yawn. Poppy Preserve No Very Poppy

Not much in the way of flora, but the fauna was plentiful. Lots of birds, foxes, a couple of coyotes and even a rattler!

Somewhere, behind that rock, lays a rattler. As I stepped up to take this picture he let me know his presence. Couldn't see him, didn't want to... :blink:

Of course, the biggest patches of poppies lay outside the Reserve. Go Figure.

All in all, I was dissappointed not to see more poppy patches. Oh, well. Might as well plow it flat and throw up a Walmart!

Our local CalTrans people planted Poppies and wildflowers all down the middle of the local highways. The sight is probably gonna cause some accidents in a couple more weeks. CHP & EMS job security.

No bees, lots of flies and the rattler was there. I'm glad I can't prove it via photo, elsewise, I might be in the ER! You know ER, don't you?

I fell asleep looking at the pics....only because I was tired of drbunsen and his explanation of the fjr. Then again...poppy seeds? Shoot me up, baby....

Late rains make for a no show according to the sweet young thang :wub: at the money takin' booth. The heat that is soon to hit will keep 'em sleeping til next year.
