on an FJR...just purchased a 2009 FJR1300A...I LOVE that black...$13,197.96 out the door for $14,499.00 from OTD cyclesports in Burlingame, CA...I didn't get to ride her home yet because of the ignition switch recall...they have the part but will put it on Tuesday...it will be a looooooooooooong 3 days waiting for the first ride...but just sitting the bike feels much more comfortable to me then my 05 did.

Congrats on the new scoot! Yeah, that would be worse than waiting for Christmas, having to wait three days to pick it up.

Let the farkling begin!

D

Yeah, nothing prettier than a black cycle. Nothing harder to keep clean also. Congratulations!

Er...uhm...are you calling 3 days a WAIT????? What would you have done participating in the PDP!?!? :dribble:

You have now been successfully assimilated!

Yeah, welcome...from a fellow Black owner. Everything you've heard about keeping Black clean is true, but as long as you're not to anal about it  , no big deal.

See you on the road.

Randy

Congrats on the FJR and welcome to the nuthouse!

Watch out for dcarver though. He's one of dem dare freaky hippies from Kali. Always happy and ****.

Thanks for all the welcomes and comments...I am going crazy waiting...arrrggggggggghhhhhh! no farkles yet...I will see how everything feels on the road first...the only thing ordered so far is a new Joe Rocket Yamaha riding jacket...darn, the sun just came out making the wait even harder.

I picked up the FJR today...what a feeling to ride a real motorcycle again...riding hasn't felt this good in years...definitely nothing like a Yamaha!

First things first, get that sticker off the tank, there ought to be a law against putting anything like that on our new bikes.

I know I look like a new comer with that brand new jacket on, but I am back on an FJR after having a 2005...I love this 09...I am 52 and have been riding since I was 8 years old...and raced TT, Scrambles, 1/4 mile oval, indoor oval, and a little motocross.... I love 2 wheels and a motor : )

Congratulations on the new ride. I especially like the Black Rims for 09. That really sets the bike off in my opinion. ENJOY!

Jim...welcome ...and you know what they say about going black?? Heck, ride the dam thing. I've rode the heck out of mine knowing there is a switch problem, and so have thousands of other owners, but I am not concerned. I get my new switch next week anyway and I am riding the bike 80 miles to the dealer to get the work done.

Life's too short to worry about what MAY happen. At least that's the way I see it. If I worried about MAY, I sure wouldn't be on a motorcycle.

Welcome to the forum...grow a thick skin...expect a few rocks here and there to hit you...welcome the attack...piss, moan, and whine a little, then throw it right back in a most mature, professional, and semi-respectful way. Most of us are over the half century mark in age anyway, so the young snappers on the forum bounce off like soft lead bullets hittin' a hard *** steel plate.

Ride safe and assume EVERYONE around you on the road is going to do something stupid and unexpected. Watch those intersections and left turners...and for heaven's sake, stay out of the blind spots!!

Thanks for all the great welcomes...and LCJ...I know what you mean...I had Cancer in July, major surgery removing my left kidney and into my bladder...I was back to work in September and now its time to RIDE! I love your saying Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday...I think that will be my first tat...and yes let the farkling begin...but not to much..today it will be Kisan back off, pathblazer and I am still trying to figure out what I want to do with the handle bars...I don't need much, the Gen Mar risers seem to be what I want...not a full triple crown...I can not find contact info for Gen Mar to ask if there Y203 risers will work on my 2009...does anyone have a phone number for them...I wrote some of the online places with no answer...Yeehaw! the sun is out again and the streets are drying : ) have a great day!

GenMar contact info here: GenMar

These work fine on an '08, and since the '09 is just an '08 with black wheels, they should get the job done.

Nice ride, BTW.
