Mother Nature's not been kind in New Hampshire, she's 3 weeks 'old' with 200mi., an unacceptable situation soon to be remedied. A couple of footnotes:

YCCT: Geezum crow, hold the hell on when in Sport Mode, the throttle response is truly sick!!

Cruise Control: Very, very nice feature, reduces 'throttle hand' fatigue.

Heated Grips: Should have been standard long ago. Aside from keeping the meat hooks warm, heated grips reduce cramps.

Transmission: Not sure what the magic is here but going thru the gears on the ES is much, much smoother than gen 1's & 2's. Maybe because the bike's new??

Bridgestones: OK but PR3's or 4's will be swapped-out @ the 600mi checkup. B-stones are not confidence inspiring but are much, much better than the downright dangerous Metzler POS's than came stock on my '10.

Spring Preload: Could it get any better?

Suspension Damping on the fly: Could it get any better?

The bottom line is the entire bike is more refined, more responsive & 'feels' like much more than a mere evolution, it is transformational.

I've put the red side panles on & mounted my Zumo 350LM on a Techmount Stem Mount. The angle cannot be adjusted to eliminate sunlight glare, I'll be remounting it on the hydr. clutch cover via a Ram Mount. Two Brothers carbon fiber slip-ons are in the not-so-distant future.

Yamaha's done a fantastic job on this bike, she's an absolute winner!

Cheers,

Ed

PS to NERDS, PM me if you're out & about, would be fun to connect for a ride!

Congrats on the new scoot Ed!

Now get out there and get some more miles on...

Thanks to all for the good wishes. Finally, finally, finally managed a good ride in some good weather, did a quick 140-miler & talked my way out of a speeding ticket, chuckle, chuckle. Lunch @ Plain Jane's Diner was very good, & surprisingly quick. The ES pegs the funometer!

Cheers,

Ed

Congratulations!! I have no previous FJR experience to draw upon, but I am enjoying my new ES as well. BTW...where did you purchase the red side covers?

heck no, I ain't jealous at all.....not one bit......hardly at all.....barely.......maybe just a tad.

congrats on the new ride!

SnoCat... You Dog!

Congrats on your new ES, Ed. I'll put a shout out when we get a free weekend to do a RTE.

Maybe a weekend breakfast run sometime soon?

PS - I assume that you finally found a buyer for your 2010? That price was just too good not to have had a line out the door.

Fred, I was the buyer that Ed found. And yes, I'm enjoying the heck outta this thing. About 1500 miles so far this year.

Thanks again Ed, and good luck with your new ES

Nice grab. I'd have loved to have bought that bike from Ed, but did not have the cha-ching right now for the upgrade.

Best of luck with her. I'm sure that she'll treat you very well. And welcome to the forum!

That's funny. I didn't realize that it might be a new bike to you. Pretty cool that it'll end up on Ed's old one. (Good color combo too.

Congrats Ed!

On a side note, I rode to an event in downtown Seattle Wednesday. Some of the roadways were just plain nasty. I thought to myself now if I just had a ES, I would adjust with the suspend menu to suck up the nastiness.

Hey Anjinsan! Thanks for stopping by the forum, great to hear your enjoying your bike! She was the most trouble-free bike I've ever owned, she'll treat you well!

The ES is great but Mother Nature's not helping matters. Maybe this weekend I'll dodge the rain & break past the 500mi mark????? But dang, those wet roads make for a dirty bike - entirely unacceptable.

Lots of good info & good folks on this forum, welcome aboard & stay in touch!

Ed
