Today I did it! Went for a testride on a FJR, and bought it. It's a 2003 FJR1300A in Galaxy Blue. It's done 30k miles and runs and looks like new. I am picking her up Saturday.

I know, it's a bad pic, but this is the dealer pic since I obviously haven't made one myself yet.

Congrats, Afterburn!

The link to your image appears to be broken....

Those look like american decals to me. My dealer had applied them to the tail underneath the luggage racks and trunk brackets.

The Euros have white Yamaha lettering across the tank in '03, no?

as such:

And the EU years are a year earlier than the US ones (2003 EU == 2004 US) so that's why it had the integrated front signals (and presumably larger brake rotors, etc).

Humm I was going to say Blue 03 with ABS? Glad that was straitened out.

Congraduations! Welcome, & Ride Safe. TJ

Welcome to the family, you are going to love that motorcycle.

Look forward to great pic's and ride reports.

Larry

Well, what is the going price of a 2003 with 30,000 miles, dear I ask??

Happy trails to you............ :D

Did you get any kind of maint info that was done on the bike...... ;)

Congratulations! I now have 1800 miles on my FJR and I hope you enjoy your first 1800 miles as much as I have enjoyed mine!

Let us know how you think the 30k miles has affected the bike. It would be interesting to hear what wears out first.

Spine: don't choke, but I paid €11k for it. That's like new for US standards, but cheap for a 2 yr old w/ ABS here in Holland.

Twowheeler: yes, the bike was bought, maintained and sold by the shop I bought it from. Got to see the full maintenance history.

Orange: I now did 1000miles and loving it. The bike is absolutely perfect, and nothing is wrong. I will need to replace tires and brakepads soon, but that is normal regular maintenance.

Blue: Dutch is good. :D

isisonaride: I know, I already do!
