Temp's were pushin' 60º this afternoon, so I decided to take a quick spin over to inspect the Dragon. The store is under major reconstruction (see thread in Southeast section) and is 'closed' for the season.

However, US129 was in perfect condition w/ no sand, salt, or debris at all. Clean and dry. Saw 7 cages going toward the Calderwood overlook, 5 on the way back. Never had to pass a single vehicle. Saw zero LEO's, zero other motorcycles. It was a 'perfect' 223 mile day.

Not to bad a gift, considering what we gave you.

Sherman

Is that mean enough TWN?

Hehe, Maybe I shouldn't go to the SFO.

Sorry but this fkn weather up here is not as humorous as you Southerners and Cal's might imagine. Upto 12" tonight with high winds. I used to like snow ok, but the older I get the more I hate it.

Oh well, I killed another thread.

Wish I was there.

Well Bruce, which would you rather have, your snow, or the 68* and 3 tornados we had tonight?

I think I'll take the snow. It's melting here in the North West. Actually went for a short ride saturday. I'd rather know that my house is where I left it.

I love Alabama, Last night 68 and tornados, this morning Its snowing and 27.

I'll post a pick of the snow later

That's OK Bruce, I can sympathize with you first hand. You see, I lived my first 43 years living in central Michigan, and like you say, the older I got, the more I hated winter. The last straw was 6 years ago when I had to get up on my roof and shovel the snow off because it was bending the trusses and causing the sheetrock on the ceiling to crack. That literally was my breaking point. It was time to move south.

You couldn't get me to move back to the frozen tundra...

Sherman and Grant are two of my favorite hero's. In fact, have you got any Grant's you can spare?

We get tornados too - so yes, I'll trade for the winters, not the summers.

My Dad was from Western NC. I need to go see the kinfolks this spring. I love it there, but I could never figure out how to make a living down there - no steel mills and little Ironwork.

Oh well.

OK BentAero ... You're officially off my Christmas card list :p

Please keep in mind that some of us get a tad 'sensitive' this time of year after having suffered 2 wheeled withdrawl for a couple of months. Seeing the blue bomber covered up in the Garage is enough to make a grown man cry ...... along with the freakin' massive amounts of snow lately.

So I mean this in a truely friendly way when I say this .....

You lucky ******* !!!

<lol>

( the previous statement was said completely with tongue in cheek and meant to introduce levity to the otherwise depressing topic of riding withdrawl )

We've had about 10 inches of fresh snow in the Montana Rockies in the last week. Last night I pulled the cover about half way off the stowed FJR just to refresh my memory. It occured to me that a half covered bike is sexy - enticing - in the same way a half covered woman is. You definitely want to see more, put your hands on it, straddle it. Now, can anyone dispute its been too damned long since I rode (a bike)! Sheesh! And still 30-60 days to go... WAAAAAHHHH!
