Check my forum name and you might get that I totally understand where the black humor comes from.

But the "how" doesn't matter in something like this.

To bring a kid along till they're just about an adult and then lose them is absolutely devastating to anybody even remotely involved or related.

My point is that at least one person who I know of on this forum's lost an older teen, so be careful of where this goes.

222,

SORRY... And I am not bashing on your post BUT my feelings are this,

An individual with a rope doesn't pose a problem to most like a crazed ******* wimp with a gun..

When a grief stricken individual chooses to die It is a shame... BUT

When a mass murdering coward chooses to try and kill as many innocent people that he/she can it is a travesty....

NOT WORTHY OF A COMPARISON.

Although, I suspect your point was with respect to the UK's strict gun control policies.

I'd prefer to just keep whistling through the graveyard...

No chastising meant, especially toward you, Fred. I probably jumped faster than I shoulda, knowing where this could go - not that it did - and that a member recently lost his son. No offense meant. Back to the usual loonie-tunes.

We could get into all sorts of philosophical discussions about how piss-poor of a job the average parent is doing today. What with single parent families, broken families, and even when there are two parents they both feel they have to work, resulting in nearly obligatory day-care (please somebody else take care of my children for me so I can work to have a big house and fancy car) for the children even when they are in their formative years.

This is the second or third time the parenting skills of my generation have been dragged through the mud on this forum, the other times I have let it go. So,

1) How in the hell did daycare get into this discussion? I sent my kids to daycare, not to buy a fancy car or home, but so we could afford to pay for the heat in our home. I lived near your current location and I can guarantee that you paid more for your home than I did for mine, that's one of the reasons I moved from there. Our family has a one vehicle, Pontiac Transport. Real fancy. When our kids were in their formative years money was tight, we needed the two incomes to make it, and so far they are doing just fine thank you.

2) I suspect Charles Manson belongs more to your generation than mine.

3) Yes there have been many very high profile incidents regarding todays youth, sweeping generalizations do not follow. If you are old enough to criticize others parenting skills you're old enough to know that.

Go not gently into that goodnight. Glad my kids have made it past the teenage years.

Yeah, that crossed the line. Thread is closed.

And feejer222 I STRONGLY urge you to post less Off-Topic and more about FJRs.
