So a friend of mine were having a discussion about the world's worst "foods" and Circus Peanuts came up. Personally, I like one or two Circus Peanuts (stale or fresh, no real difference), but can't handle more than a couple at a time. But that got me to thinking, I really miss Zagnut Bars. They don't carry them in our local convenience stores, and trying to buy them online you get hosed with the shipping.

So why is it that every freaking store, gas station, etc still carries Circus Peanuts, but no one has Zagnut Bars???

Zagnuts are awesome! I know they're still around as they were in the movie Hancock (and several other movies for that matter).

I just knew you like nuts.

Actually, I haven't seen Circus 'Nuts in years, but have the Zaggy's. Go figger.

Allright, what the heck are "Circus Peanuts" and do they have defective kickstands that one may need knee pucks for when laid down..? :clown2:

Think marshmallow, but harder and really sweet.

From Wiki -

In the episode "My Name is Inmate 28301-016 (Part 1)" of the sitcom My Name Is Earl, a prisoner mentions the difficulty of finding Zagnut bars in the 21st century to Earl, and wonders if they are still in production.

You are not the only one wondering.

Can't get Circus Peanuts? Try a bag of marshmellows thats been opened and stick on the back shelf for a year, doesn't look the same, but taste and texture are.

How 'bout Chick-O-Sticks. Pretty close to a Zagnut if I remember. They're around.

And my ex-mother-in-law used ta make a killer dessert salad outa the Circus Peanuts..

Much better than jus eatin um plain. :good:

Judging by some of the "I-need-a-hug" threads around here lately, I'd say there's definitely a need. I'm beginning to think we need a "Playtex Thread of the Week" award...

Ponyfool, I just got back from Fred Meyer's and determined that they obviously don't stock Zagnut. A lot of pretty much everything else, but no Zagnut.

I've got plenty. Zagnuts galore. PM me your address, I'll hook a brother up.

Ehhh, no, just not the same. I still like a chick-o-stick, but it's a bit diferent.

And as for circus peanuts...

Ya'll do realize that they only made these once. The year was 1927. All that is available is NOS of the original production run.

I too love Zagnut bars. Can't find them here in Ohio, but I bought a full box of them from a store at last years EOM. I find them all over in the south eastern states. I think I paid 75 cents a bar when I bought that box. I've found them on Amazon.com and shipping was not bad, I think it may have been free shipping because I bought a few other items.
