Went to pick up my 06A that I made a deposit on in March today. The dealer had an 04 ABS with 411 miles on it for $9699. I went ahead and got the 06. Paid $900 below list. I really had a tough decision. I hope I made the right one. Total difference would have been around $3k. Anyway, had fun on my new bike. Awesome motor and handling, but I'm sure most of you know this already. New to me coming from the v-twin world. I ain't goin back! Any inputs on my decision? It's all hindsight anyway...

You could have bought the 04, saved the $3k and that could buy a lot of accessories. Then there's also that nagging doubt in the back of their mind, that you don't have the latest technology, that was available at that point in time. Which by the way, is never ending. That in turn, could cause you finding yourself unhappy later on, with that older dated 04.

What's important to one is not to another. What's more important, saving the money or having the latest technology. Only you can answer that. You made a choice which seems to answer the question. It doesn't make it right or wrong. Don't try to second guess your decision now.

Life is zigging and zagging while staying on the course at hand. We all have this in our life. Life is too short for "what if I would have".....? Everyone is entitled to the pursuit of happiness in life. Just ride it and enjoy it!

If it doesn't work for you, I'll trade you my 04ABS. Just kidding! :D

Like you said hindsight....don't sweat it.... just enjoy it welcome to the forum....Now you should sign up for WFO....maybe we'll see you there.... :drinks: :good:

The main thing IMHO is that you are happy with it, if you are, it is the right choice.

As for the portion of your message that I quoted; I am in the same position, after waiting 2 years to make the switch from v-twin cruisers, I'm not going back either :D

What if? Now there's a never ending pointless recurring Thread. My friend you chose the bike you wanted(I know because your riding it), So what is 3 grand spread over the life of the bike?

I am coming off of a 5 year stretch on Victory's and all I can say is , WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!!!!!!. I talked to the shops owners wife yesterday, and her and her hubby still ride Vics(yam and Vic Dealer) and I told her that she better put their name on the one that they have coming in in July, and forget selling it.

Here's a good way to look at it:

The 2006 FJR1300A is one hell of a bargain at MSRP. Be glad you had the good sense to buy one, and enjoy it.
