I ordered a Caberg Justissimo helmet from ClassicCruiser and after several days had gone by without a status change to the order, I emailed them.

This is their response:

In regard to your inquiry about your order for the Caberg helmet I regret to say that at this time no one in the U.S.A. is able to get any Caberg helmet or accessory. Caberg helmets are made in Italy and they are not importing them at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; unfortunately we cannot predict when a manufacturer or importer will make a decision concerning their products that affect us all.

HOWEVER, we are working on a deal with Caberg and anticipate we will have more information on this available in the next few weeks. If you wish to be advised of this new development, please reply and let us know that you want to be placed on the Caberg list for this special offer. Only our current customers that wish to be on this list will be offered this special deal.

If you are interested in trying to find a different helmet we do have the following link you can go to for the new Zox Genesis Helmet, which does have similar features:

https://www.classiccruiser.com/products.asp...ted=Genesis+SVS

Also if you click on the PART DETAIL and MORE INFO tabs next to the BIKE FITMENT tab you will find more useful information about this helmet.

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and hope you understand manufacturing decisions and issues are beyond our ability to control.

Best regards,

Kayla

In researching, Web Bike World had great reviews of some of the other Zox helmets, but no reviews on the Genesis.

I found it on line here https://store.valueaccessories.net/index.as...;MMP=1012792835 for $149.95 plus $7.50 & $15.00 upcharge for colors other than black. ClassicCruiser has it for $209.95.

For 1/2 the price of a Caberg, this sounds like a great deal if the quality is as good as Web Bike World indicates for the Zox Azuma R full face and the Nevado R flip up. Does anyone have any experience with the Zox Genesis?

Here is a product description:

At last years Atlanta MC show. There was a Caberg Dealer selling at the show.

I was very interested in one till I tried it on. I did not like the fit.

But hey, at 1/3 price, go for the ZOX it says DOT.

Be the guini pig.

I have one on order and will post opinion when I get it and have had time to evaluate.

This will be a first, not having at least tried one on for size. From what I am reading they run about a 1/2 size small, so I ordered an X-Large, instead of the Large that fits me in the Symax modular I am currently using. I measure 23 1/4 inch around and have read conflicting charts for this helmet. The Zox website would put me in a large, but I was convinced to go with the XL by the folks at https://store.valueaccessories.net/

I'll be waiting for your eval. I've had a Jarrow/Caberg for a few years now and love it except for the venting or rather the lack of effective venting.

I'm wondering if you've ever worn Shoei helmets and found them comfortable? Just trying to get an idea on head shape

I have never owned a Shoei. Only the HJC Symax and one other. The Zox shipped today and will be here Wednesday. Super service from value accessories. First purchase from this company. It may be a while before I ride. I am not one to brave the elements much below 50 degrees.

At one time I had done an extensive review of the Caberg which sadly has been lost to the gods of server crashes. I was comparing it to both the various Arais and the Schuberth Concepts I've owned. Bottom line is you get what you pay for (Duh). The Caberg is a cheap helmet that works and fits like a cheap helmet. For commuting and short rides it's fine. For any type of long day, you'll be hurting from the pain points at the ears and forehead if you are a long-oval head type.

The other real knock on the Caberg for me was the curved bottom edge of the inner sun shield. Unlike the Concept, the inner shield is curved to fit over your nose. Sounds like a grand idea. Sucks in practice. That lower edge is visible to my eyes and is a constant distraction as it tricks my eyes into thinking the inner shield is crooked. The Zox looks to be the same.

If you want the features, shell out for the Schuberth C2. It's a very high quality piece that's worth the hassle of finding it and the cost of buying it.

dont let the price fool you. Zox helmets have gotten great reviews like this one:

after using and abusing the Zox Nevado for several weeks and on some long rides, it's our opinion that the helmet is about as good as it gets in modular-land -- with one important exception regarding the safety of the rotating visor, which we'll discuss.

The Nevado is missing the Caberg Trip's internal sun shade and the Caberg is spookily light (for a flip-up) at only 1615 grams, but otherwise our Nevado is pretty close, with outstanding quality in most areas and good noise control.

I was in the market for a new flip-face so I just ordered the Zox. I've got my fingers crossed about the internal sun visor...never had that feature...should be great if it works.

I was just at a local shop and they showed me the Zox helmet. It's really cool. I like the visor and extra airspace around the ears. It will keep audio earplugs from digging into your ear. It's also the perfect fit to instal autocom speakers.

I've always worn a medium in Arai or Shoei & was able to try on the ZOX SVS helmet at my dealer & found the sizing about the same. The quality seems very good for a helmet in this price range, I've never worn a flip-up before & look forward to trying it out, my medium silver should be here in a day or two.

I received my Zox Genesis today and am duly impressed with the value I received for my money. I was concerned that the internal visor would interfere with my glasses. It does not. My bike's under repair so no ride report but...

...these guys are pretty crafty. The Genesis is a Nevado with an internal visor, more elaborate rear vent, a metallic finish on the vent mechanisms to make them a bit snazzier and a quick release chin strap. All they had to do was modify their existing Nevado shell form to create an indent for the sliding switch that operates the visor.

What's true for the Nevado is going to be the same for the Genesis.

WebBikeWorld review of the Nevado

A problem Webbikeworld found with the helmet is that they were able to force open the flip face without using the release mechanism. A reader responded that theirs was impossible to open that way as is my Genesis. Perhaps Zox fixed the issue or Webbikeworld had a flawed unit...something to watch out for.

Bumpy...Has anyone ridden an FJR with a Zox helmet?

After reading the WebBikeWorld reviews, I'm nearly convinced the Zox quality is there, but how's the turbulence noise behind our windshields?

I have the Zox full face and it is about the same as my ICON fullface both loud. The Zox is more comfortablle that the Icon.

I have the Zox, got it just to use when my wife rides with me because my Autocom speakers won't fit in my X-11.

It's my first flip up & after reading the same reviews I went for it.

Fit & finish is very nice, comfortable to wear, plenty of room for helmet speakers & mic.

I'm wear a medium in Arai & Shoei & Zox is the same.

I remember the review saying it was quite for a flip up helmet, well.......I can't imagine what a loud one must be like.

A Shoei X-11 is by no means a quite helmet, but this thing is crazy, it might be quite compared to an open face helmet, but I doubt it.

The flip down tinted visor is neat but not very dark for sunny days, I picked up the dark outside visor to go with it.

Quality seems good, comfort & visor optics are good, I'm just not happy with the noise; earplugs are a must with this helmet IMO.
