Don't you just hate it when work gets in the way of play!

mcatrophy, those aren't your ordinary Wellies, they are Equestrian/Hunters. Do you ride?

(I admire your solution to lawn mowing, how long do you think it will take me to put down 2 acres of bricks? Me mum'n law could have gotten flowers beyond all count in a space that big, good thing she always had small gardens  )

That's sad, no gloating tho. yesterday got to put 350 mile on mine (for work, got paid for it ,wheeeee).

Today edging and trimming, and mines setting in the garage.

Here is some reality for you.

You have the option to ride. Get your butt in gear, do your chores, and go ride. MOTAVATION is the key.

I, however, am still typing about an FJR that hit the pavement 7 months ago.

I missed NAFO.

They keep dangling the carot closer but still no bike yet.

I haven't even registered for EOM yet cause I don't know if I'll have my bike back for sure yet by then (and I am a member of the EOM staff)

"the grass is always greener"

In My case, sir, you grass is a golf course :p

Wish I could get one of those...

mini dumpsters here. They'll only deliver the bigass ones, which are expensive and really screw up your driveway. It's a drag when you're trying to do some serious renovation.

Nice looking bike and place, Trophy.

Being in California with nice weather this summer - I'm afraid my lawn is overgrown, and weeds are popping up everywhere... but when I DO have to get chores done - they're done in record time.

Final Count:

Chores - 0

Riding - 1,000

Ionbeam - the only riding I do is the bike (that I'm prepared to say in public, anyway). I assure you the wellies are genuine Italian rubber, bought about 10 years ago for £6.

And there's enough lawn to mow; some of the earth-works are making more grass.

Airboss - I'm truly envious.

Fencer - I may have the bike, but SWMBO wants the work doing. Life would be impossible if I didn't 'O' her. Sorry about your off, hope you get a replacement soon.

Scoot - I've only had a minor off, even with that I had a moment's doubt. But after the plastic was fixed, I was in love again. (Never stopped loving SWMBO. Perhaps that's where I've gone wrong?)

No gloating, now you can admire both beauties! Enjoy your accomplishment by taking the scoot for a nice long ride afterwards!

Sprt - Going to Scotland for a week in September, that'll help no end. Don't know if the work will be done by then, though.

Know what you mean. Fjrs become a bad habit or is it a good habit?

Big Ears - Got to be a greathabit. Huge smiles and hurts no-one (unless you get it wrong...).

Beautiful house. Looks like your work has paid off nicely.

Johnny - Bought the house 10 years ago from a bankrupt builder. Been gradually pulling it into shape. Since I've officially retired, I'm having to do all those jobs that were "YDWIR" jobs (that's "yes, dear, when I retire"). Mind you, I'm still going to work about two days a week, so I get some rest. And 3 miles of FJR each way, twice a week.

Z - Believe me, even a little one takes some filling. Particularly when everything you are digging out has to be loosened with a pick-axe (technically a mattock in my case, but who's being technical?).

As for the nice bike, thank Yamaha. All I've done is wash it (please don't send the Gay Police after me).

BITS - See stuff above about SWMBO. Just can't get away with it. But without her, I wouldn't be riding at all, it's she who encouraged me back on the saddle after a 35 year gap!

Well, people, thanks for all the comments, I was expecting a lot of grief, and stories of fantastic rides you've all been having. I'm not sure whether I'm pleased or disappointed. Guess a bit of both. Cheers to one and all.

May all your routes include a road like this:

What do you use to wrap around your throttle grip? Does it help with grip? I noticed the heated grips are very slippery.
