We're glad you guys had a good time, thanks for coming over! We didn't quite get Tony's bike finished so he's staying over.

Post some pics, I didn't take any...

What no pics, that's a no-no, I know someone did. Post up folks ..

Damn that Tony, he has to get out of that sack earlier or bring less projects.

I'm sure the pics are coming, Niehart. Pale rider 07 took a bunch and he knows how to post them. Patience, Grasshopper. :)

And Yes! Tony shouldn't have gone back to bed. I tried to warn him. These kids.... They just don't listen... :))

The usual story telling.

1 of 2 spline lubes done.

Vic's took some "convincing"!

Tony had a fork seal leaking, and Steve worked on that for him.

Gary thought this was an oversized neck warmer, he's not used to motorcycle tires!

Everyone pitched in to help wherever they could.

Jim is helping tony with his fuseblock install, while others are working on Gary's.

When in doubt, check "The Forum" for answers, and Jim (our host) had all the answers!

Yep! My spline needed some persuading but, Jim (FLFJRS) wasn't going to take NO for an answer. My fault for going almost 75K miles without a look see. I won't do that again and I know how to do it now! :)

Hey guys...had a great time meeting everyone and spending a few hours gabbing about bikes, trips and farkles. Jim, as usual, a wonderful host. Pass my thanks on again to your lovely wife. I took many photos, but had company shortly after I got home. Should start working on getting those uploaded tonight, tomorrow at there latest.

Hope to see you folks again soon!

Dave

Ok I got a few to post, but first...

A big thank you to the Host and Hostess

And thank you to EVERYONE who showed up! If just one person would have been missing, it would not have been as great as it was.

What a turnout!!! Nice to see some riders that I have not seen in awhile!

Thanks to all the hands helping out with my needy '08. I tried to make the procedures as difficult as possible (I hate reading instructions)

IF anyone needs help complicating a simple Powerlet install... I am your man.

Great day for FOOD and FRiENDS !!! (And some farkling in between)

THE CREW !

A blown fork seal complicated matters

At home ready for reserve duty!

Special thanks to Steve for the fork seal work.

BUT, I still need round #3 with my farkles and I do have 2 more bikes that need attention!

When is the next Tech Day?

Hey everybody what's up.

Posting late today, haven't been out of bed too long .....just couldn't sleep early on, my mind was replaying all the day's events over and over. From leaving the house early morning to getting back just over 12 hours later. Ranks as one of the most enjoyable days I can remember.....thanks to everybody.

Read all of your posts over and heartily endorse them all.....great ride, great company, great grub and a terrific learning experience in an aladdin's cave of a workshop like I've never seen!! Some good pics too can't wait to see more.

Managed to set off from Jim's with my house keys still hanging from the Givi lock.....that's the second time I've done that. Gave Rob a chuckle though, as I had already told him about the first. Luckily we stopped down the road to gas up and retrieve them. Then I couldn't undo the zip on my jacket to get at my wallet coz the zipper puller broke off !! That's a dumb Brit for you.

Big thanks to Jim, Patty and Rob, and Tony.......you're very welcome, hope you soon get back on the road if not already.

Here's to the next time, maybe I'll get that spline lube and a rear tire swap done too.

Steve

As soon as possible, Tony! We'll reserve the day just for you if we have to and gang bang that thing until it sings!

I saw the look on your face toward the end knowing it wasn't gonna get all done. It wasn't pretty. But!.....

Think about all the things you did get done! :) Glass half full, Bro! :))

I want to see some TBs done next time. And the tire changes were just too fast to witness, seems the tire changer works better than my spoons.

I got 180k with no attention to my spline, wanna bet we need a bigger hammer?

Farkle round #3 will be when I can afford the additions.

After this Arctic weather passes- we can do some ride to eats, cause I am cutting down on the big rides - honest I am.

Perfect snippet of the day, LKLD. That pretty much says it all for the day. Enjoyed the hell out of myself. We've got to do that again.. And again. :)

Thanks again for coming over and posting pics! I think things went well here in beautiful Mims, yes?. The tech day motivated me to do some cleaning and reorganization; the new floorplan worked good, but the alcove behind the tire changer still needs some tweaking. I have more to do, but also got to get my bikes back in the shop and start on my FJR mods and maintenance for this yrs LD riding season - not to mention engine work on my old white 4wd truck.

Tony - I'll see what I've got and make up that harness for your relay, then we can schedule a time for you to come up and we'll finish that up. I'm thinking to leave a little extra on the ends and we'll cut to fit and attach the terminals when it's perfect. What circuits did you need to come off of that Centech again?

Hey, at least you guys know where to go for tire changes! I have to admit being spoiled by the use of a dedicated tire changer; it sure makes the job easier.

Wifey & I plus Greg (the loud HD guy!) and another female friend went to the Scottish Highland Games in Winter Springs yesterday, so that was a full day and only getting to post this morning. We took big red (the truck) over, picked them up in Sanford. Patty got to be the DD so I might've had a stout or three. Greg did too and that made him brazen enough to do the 198 lb rock carry game they had. I couldn't get him to throw the telephone pole tho LOL.

See you guys down the road!

The floor plan was great, Jim. Everyone had plenty of room to sworn around everything like bees. The tidying up part is at your discretion. And Yes! Now when I'm thinking about a tire change, I'll give you a holla and bring a case of stout... :))

Thinking back, I wish I would have gotten starter earlier. Seems like I (indeed we all...) spent a lot of time gabbing rather than wrenching. I would have liked to have done a throttle body synch as Steve (Yumm Yam) brought his motion pro and was ready to go. A couple guys were wanting to see how that's done, and this would be my second time to do so. However, I chose to be the second spline lube victim of the day as I wanted to see how that rear end came apart. Besides, the splines haven't been lubed since the CT was installed by the dealer 3 years and 32k miles ago. Good thing I made that decision... for two reasons: #1 - the spline was dry as a bone and #2 - the tire was out of balance (though not by much). Oddly enough, we didn't have to put any weights on it, we only had to remove a couple. Once we did that, the balance came out just about perfect. Thanks Jim for teaching me how to do it all. I certainly had a lot to learn, but now that I've done it with my own hands, now I know how it's done and won't be afraid to tackle it myself in the future. I guess at some level, most of us came away from the day thinking the same thing, eh?

Gary
