So, a while back I was hoping to get one more trip in before the weather turned ridiculous. Now that it has frozen solid here, I will be reminiscing about days in the saddle, and not on the couch.
I thought about heading to Arkansas and even posted up a topic looking for advice. About the same time, Griff posted up something called a spin and made it kinda like an open invite. So after a few emails and PMs, I jumped into the washing machine for a great spin.
I had some logistics to take care of because the place to meet was in Rockford early Friday Morning. We had parent teacher conferences Thursday night til 8pm. That meant heading to my brothers in Sycamore Thursday night in the dark. That ride was uneventful and boring. NO deer were seen on this portion of the the trip.
Plan was to meet up at a Gas Station in Rockford in the morning. First time meeting Griff and soon after Marty(O-Face) showed up. After a quick meet/greet and a gas up, we headed north right away. It was a little foggy and misty, but roads were dry for the most part.
First pic was at a German Restaurant. Food was great as was the atmosphere.

GPS has us going this way. Marty says "hold on"
Looks like this is not the first time the GPS was wrong. Notice the "turn around" marks. Marty and Griff are serious GPS people. They knew every road, trail, and goat path around.
Marty pulling a U turn after the road went to gravel.
We rode all over SE Wisconsin that day towards the Hotel. After check in, it got very serious. Gramps met us there and Marty sprung into action. Coffee is a serious endeavor and should be treated as such is what I learned that night.
I told you these guys were GPS majors!!! Planning the routes for the next day.
I will add some more on my lunch tomorrow
