Plans are still coming together but it looks like the 'beams will be in the Phoenix area from 7/3 to 7/12, exact dates may shift a day or two. We are going to see the niece that was involved in a motorcycle accident about 6 weeks ago and is still in acute physical rehab and provide some support for her worn out mother. Around that we will be stepping out into the oven and with some luck we will be doing some riding. Hopefully we can meet up with the local chicos malos and have a cold beverage and some buena comida one day. I'll be sending some PM.

Damn! Wish I lived in the Phoenix area right now. Except for the part when I step out of an air conditioned car and into what feel like an oven. Other than that..... I'd love to ride with you.

Phoenix 85º/114º isn't so much different from Sandown, NH 54º/74º We probably won't notice any difference. Where is that scorched black, smoking, puddled out smilie when I need it? We have experience in both Phoenix and Palm Springs 'bug under a magni-frying glass' type heat. This may be the only time this year that Mrs. 'beam will be comfortably warm ;)

When are you headed there? Riding or were you choosing alternate transportation and maybe renting a MC? I'm headed in that general direction - leaving June 26 (I think) but will hit northern Arizona (not going as far south as Phoenix). Going to Arizona will be via Blueridge, then Arkansas, Colorado, Utah etc.

Hope your niece is doing better. I followed the blog for a few days but haven't checked recently.

This trip was unscheduled and will eat up vacation time we hadn't expected to use so we will be flying out and renting there -- if I get my butt in gear and make the motorcycle reservation. We are still tentatively scheduled for 7/3 to 7/12.The root reason for going is Helen's niece but we have family and friends in the Phoenix area so we will be visiting with them too. I've rented from AZRide in Scottsdale and their service is great, the condition of the FJRs they rented was not as good as they should have been IMO, though I will say that they were retiring that crop of FJRs and replacing them with new ones for the next riding season.

Jenn is doing miraculously well which isn't to say things are fine, but the recovery exceeds expectations by a lot.

North of Phoenix is good! We enjoy the area around Payson, Pine, and Strawberry. Recommended: start early from Flagstaff and drive south through Sedona, plan to pretty much make a day of it but $taying the night in $edona may be more $$$ than you would like to $pend. If you can work it into your plans, recommended: try to ride Rt 89A out of Jerome and stop in Prescott for lunch. The World Famous Grand Canyon is indeed worth the time and fighting the crowds. The ride to access the Grand Canyon can be HOT, slow, HOT, traffic packed and HOT. It's worth it.

Enjoy your trip, safe riding! You are going to love it all except for the span from Arkansas to Colorado.

Saludos y Recuerdos Alan and Helen, Mi Casa es su Casa! The Stanley Boys Guest Bedroom is available, we hope you like sleeping with a Labrador Retriever - "Oso"! I'll not be able to ride a 2 wheeler with you Fine Folks, my right arm and leg are still not recovered from my Motorcycle crash back on 2/15. I have to go in for a third repair surgery on my Shoulder on June 30, Bummer! https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/162016-beemerdons-crashes-is-in-hospital/

May be a chance Miss Donna and Papa Chuy Viejo could ride along with you on a Trike. Chester's Harley-Davidson is picking up my 2012 BMW K1600GT today to take it to their shop for a Trade-In Appraisal on a 2015 Freewheeler FLRT. I have a FLRT rented. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/163723-sun621-h-d-freewheeler-trike-test-ride-400-miles-of-n-az/
