There isn't room to install a 12 fuse blue seas fuseblock flat in the tailsection of an '06, due to two humps (circled in red)that raise the fuse block high enough to hit the bottom of the seat: (pic borrowed from fjrfencer in a previous post)

The trick is to cut these humps off (I used a dremel and cut off wheel):

Then I glued in two pieces to fill the holes:

When I got done it looked the backside of something you might see at a zoo. It will be covered by the fuseblock, but I decided to clean it up anyways by gluing another piece of plastic on top:

and finally the fuseblock:

With this mod there is now about a 1/4" clearance, with the fuseblock velcroed in.

Beautiful install. I too have the 12 circuit blue sea installed -- but on an '05 under the seat. You must have some hefty wiring harnesses spanning the full length of your bike!

Not yet, just got the block installed :D
concensious was 12ga is fine.

mine is zip-tied in the back. I though about cuting those (the whole hump). it serves no purpose but I did not have anything to re-patch the hole that would be created above the wheel.

it serves no purpose
Which is why I have just been looking for a reason to cut it, there is a small ridge running across the hump at the bottom (under the factory rubber tie down in the above pics) that might be structural?
but I did not have anything to re-patch the hole
for the small pieces I used one of the wands off of my shop vac. For the larger piece Do-It-Best hardwares (the most inappropriate name ever) carries a roller paint tray that is black and works great. That would cover removal of the entire hump.

Then all those wires back forward again for the accessories.

I'm curious if any good routing ideas for the 2006 have emerged....

BTW- clean install

What plastic and glue did you use? ABS?
