Anyone catch the riders account in CW Re: Euro Cannonball?

I have the original article from the Performance Bike issue... published a few months ago.

The stuff this marketing outfit is going to do here in the States is primarily a joke. I mean, c'mon.... 2600 miles in 9 days? Pffffffft! Big whup!

The Cognoscente Group's "BLISTER" event in 2003 covered a whole helluva lot more miles than that, and we did it in under 48 hours.

Still, the European account that was published in Performance Bike was a good read. They had that big ZZR-1400 prepped pretty well.

Yeah, I caught it. Talk about hell on wheels!

I especially like the disclaimer at the beginning of the article, intended to foil poltically correct fucktards from the git-go. That sounds familiar  .

Great video,

After reading the articule, I guess all one needs is to be well hung and have lots of cash to pay the fines and get out of jail. And a fast bike. Looks like the babes like to show up at this event too.

Let's see, The site says "8 days of mayhem" ending with a 48 hour party. So we'll say 6 days on the road. "Each day will average 9 hours" that's like 54 hours total riding time. The total mileage is 2500 miles that's 416 miles a day! At an average speed of 46.2 mph!!

THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, the entry fee is $3950 but that includes "checkpoint chicks". I don't remember any checkpoint chicks on the Butt-Lite!? :glare:

Sounds like a great way to jam pack 34 hours of riding into 8 days....although I bet they're a bunch more rested for the party ;)

After reading the story in Cycle World I have to wonder if they are actually telling the truth regarding the ride length here.

No doubt the leo's here have heard all about this Rally and will probably be geared up for it -much like thier counterparts overseas, hence the "shortened" route.

Lets face it if you were going to thrash the law as badly as these guys, would you really announce your intent to do so?

:jester:

The focus will be on two lane highways and mountain back roads.......Coastal, mountain and desert......starting in L.A. and ending in Las Vegas.....2500 miles?????

Lookout Hwy 1 and Sierra Nevada highways. Extra Terrestrial Hwy in Nevada, here we come.

Methinks we should be careful planning group rides lest we be thought of as part of this group. Or worse, meet them coming the other direction (Having seen their riding style and willingness to run wide and cut apexes). :dribble:

If they do manage to pull this off in the US they may really damage the other rallies. That "it's a rally, not a race" thing will only serve to piss off some LEOs after hearing it for a while. I'd hate to have the LE community view all rallies as if they were just like this one.

Seems these Biker Boyz are Tork'd up for a little bit of nothing. Most of their down time would appear to be spent replacing chains, sprockets and tires.

And the parties. It has to be, uhm, er, interesting riding bikes at that speed when one is hung-over from the night before. :dribble:

I am so confused by this cannonball thing, is it a serious run or and excuse to party?

2500 miles in 8 days? Sounds like the CBA may be involved in this event.

Calling dcarver, calling dcarver, Is this a Candy Butt Association event?

OR

Is it squids on parade? <_<

Sorry, but it's got to be 'squids on parade'. No serious Candy Butt Association member will have anything to do with this fiasco. CBA folks believe in safe, sane, spirited riding and a great party afterwards. Not dumb-ass head long attempts at stupidity and death. :bigeyedsmiley: Besides, 400 miles in one day?

I thought it was a fun video to watch... especially the 2-legged dears. But, from a reality standpoint, the graphic toward the end where the rider had wings was appropriate, cuz they'll be sportin' 'em soon.
