dude, it's worse than that ....wait till I tell you what kind of things come with this job. In fact, just now I'm having to send Matt's mommy a note, letting her know that Matt lost his teddy bear (hence the long stop near Cedar City) ...she's going to overnight a new one to D.C. -or at least that is what Matt is hoping for.Me thinks Vegas was too much for Matt, hence the long stop in Cedar City, the lost Teddy Bear ....Me wonders what Scott (Gun MD) did to those folks at that bar inside the Venetian??

Seriously, I'm having fun tracking a few of these guys. Matt is easy because he sleeps for 10hours a night ;-)

This is riveting. I have Matt's spot window up and an watching it every hour or so. I am very interested in doing more long distance trips. So far San Diego to Vegas is my longest trip. Keep going Matt. I live vicariously through you!

If you enjoyed the SPOT tracking today....you'll be surprised to learn I lost that little orange sucker today. It decided to try and commit suicide and jump off the bike, skitter down the pavement, and off a cliff.

....well, cliff may be too strong a word as it did stop before reaching the bottom of Mt. Evans, but it was about 150 down a very STEEP mountainside. Fortunately, it was orange or I'd never have found it.

Got a call from TurboDave this morning. He's doing fine and decided to do the "half-a-combo in each time zone" route for the SPANK II. He had an interesting start which included the Bouchon Bistro RTE with GunMD. I guess we just missed Matt and Heidi by 50 minutes or so. I'm probably screwing this up but IIRC, Dave made fast tracks to Colorado City,

then on to Winslow, AZ and was on his way to points East. It sounds like a doable plan and Dave was in great spirits.

Just received a phone call from Iggy.

He is in Washington D.C., Air & Space Museum (I think) looking to at a mobile... he sounds well-rested, and in good shape.

He is scarfing up a bunch of food-oriented bonuses in the northeast.... he's headed to Baltimore to have some cookies, then Rhode Island to have a hot dog, then to Maine, and on up to Montreal, where he will meet up with 1986 IBR Winner Ross Copas, and they will share a plate of "French" french fries... whatever that is.

After that, he'll be busting back to Tulsa.

In Augusta, Maine and slept a restful 5 hours.

Got hammered by rain last night around Boston....beyond Biblical......ugh.

Getting back on the road and headed to Montreal.....and then on to Chicago. Then the final turn to Tulsa. I'm on autopilot at this point and just not wanting to screw up.

Spank multi-day rallies send you all over and GZ has really amped it up this year. Even having done one, it's amazing to see how hard these riders are pushing themselves.

Got a call from Matt earlier this morning.....

He was "far north" having gone around Lake Michigan from the east.

He is now headed for Milwaukee, then down to Chicago and from there he'll grab a last Waffle House Bonus and then finish up in Tulsa. He says he's ahead of schedule and was in great spirits. It seems he knows what is ahead of him and will get the job done. He's hopeful that he's run a good rally from a scoring standpoint.

Sure would be great to be in Tulsa to witness these guys come in. sure wish I could be there!

good job Matt, stay sharp, focused, collect those remaining boni and wrap a nice ribbon around some awesome riding over the last many days!

When I saw his SPOT track go south through Toronto instead of north through Sudbury, I was sure he was going to skip the Mackinaw Bridge bonus, but he turned north once he hit Michigan. Maybe Ross Copas in Montreal warned him off the northern route.

I'd love to know where he's going in Chicago but I guess I'll have to wait for the recap.

Chicago sucked in a BIG way. I barely made it out of there with enough time to make it to Tulsa and still get some needed sleep.

Safe and sound in Tulsa now....working on getting ready for scoring. Will probably report more tomorrow.

Thanks everybody for watching.....it was a helluva fun ride....and hopefully a well scoring one as well.
